Leptive terms basically explain how gender works, through mathematics and language.
Some people feel their gender condition can’t be explained by leptive terms, but in some way (in terms of biopolitics) they are somewhere on leptrois spectra.
For example, someone who find the concept of gender inapplicable or nonsensical would fit a quoigender definition, otherwise being classified as neutrois, mesotrois or nulltrois. But this person didn’t declared or determined emself this way. Then it comes the identity narratives, people could just not like the categories for themselves because they are refusing it and they should be respected.
It’s also your intrapersonal world, you do you. Your internal gender expression could not fit how your external presentation is commonly socialized as.
Some people don’t have the internal conviction of what is experiencing a gender, but they aren’t essentially agender just because of it. Other people feel the need of their gender identity, they extremely feel that gendered experience, fitting the positrois category as well.
But these gendered feelings could also be negative or neutral, some people can’t tell what gender energy they are at any moment and other people may experience fluctuation (amplusian feelings) on leptrois spectra while having always the same identity (as in cendgender).
Someone who can’t tell their gender charge so they can use alternate terms like infinitrois, penultrois, ambitrois, equitrois or quetrois (quoitrois, the leptral equivalent of questioning, unknown and undefined genders).
Some people have a lot of nongenders, while having only some antigenders and eugenders.
Zerogenders can be more complex, a neutrois antigirl could be an antineutrois girl one day; A comgender antiagender could fluctuate instantly to ungender panantigender-x, these types of experience could get hard to understand when more quantitative (as in multigenders, plurigenders, genderfluid and polygenders).
Some other terms might fall on leptive concepts, such as mathgender, colorgender, musigender, caelgender, numbergender, virusgender, digigender, epicene, biogender, lettragender, energender, lethargigender, lethargender, sociogender and geogender, not necessarily xenogenders, it can be either binary / otherly, material / immaterial, phantasmagoric (imaginary/unreal), im/measurable, saturated, (in)numerable, n-ary / equary / nullary, abstract (real but generalised) &/or neither.
Gender arity (as in binary, nonbinary, atrinary, nullary and nonquaternary) are known leptary, instead of n-ary gender-ness we can call them leptarity since they could be either anarial (zeronary/anary) or n-ary (as in ternary and quinary).
UTU/U2U/?2U, UT/TU/T, 2U/U2/2, ?2?/?TU/UT?, ?2/2?/U2? or ?T?/?T/T? (uingender to uingender): an undefined, unspecified or otherwise unidentified individual who considers emself as transitioning from uingender to uingender.
Uingender: umbrella term for all genders undecided/unsure, unknown/unnamed, unidentified/undefined/unfixed or unexplainable/undetermined in nature.
Gummyic: a xenogender related to gummies, subset of candyic Gumyic: a xenogender related to gum, subset of candyic Jellyic: a xenogender related to jelly beans, subset of candyic.
Chocoyic: a xenogender related to chocolate, subset of candyic Nougyic: a xenogender related to nougat, subset of candyic Toffyic: a xenogender related to toffee, subset of candyic
have some flags 4 bis w/ different gender preferences too! in order: general flag, wlm-leaning bi flag, mlw-leaning bi flag, & a flag for bi nbs w a pref for different genders !
I just organized all moodboards by @queer-sighs into one post. Affectional/affectionate/amative relationships/reactions/emotions/feelings in sequence: sex, romance, senses & platonicity.
The signs are approximation (≈) for ambivalence, minus (−) for repulsion/aversion/negativity, circle (○) for neutrality/indifference and plus (+) for favorability/positivity, sexually/romantically/sensually/platonically.
Background: So, I recently designed an aroace flag and also decided to design an a-spec flag. I made this flag with help from @unetortueenliberte and @schrodingersother and others from Arocalypse. This flag is intended to represent all people who are a-spec, from aroaces to allo aces and aro allos, and people on their respective spectrums.
Color Meanings:
Green- this is the same dark green from the aro flag, and it is used to represent aromantic people and the overall aro community.
Light Green- This is the light green from the aro flag, and it is used to represent people who are on the aromantic spectrum.
White- This is a color which is used in both the aro and ace flags, and it is used to represent solidarity between the aro and ace communities and unity as an aspec community.
Light Purple- This is a light purple to represent people on the asexual spectrum.
Purple- This is the dark purple from the ace flag, and it is used to represent asexual people and the overall ace community.
i feel really confident in my orientation today and it feels great 🙂 being abro can be really confusing but knowing and understanding what it is has helped me feel so much more sane, i used not understand myself
here is a combo flag i made today that i feel really accurately summarizes my ever fluctuating orientation, i simply had to share
☆ @kindaquoiro I wasn’t going to post these, but since you showed interest here are some other alternate edits I made of the flag, that keep a bit closer to the original, in case you need them!
☆We’re always happy to help someone find a flag to represent their identity.
☆(second column has transparent circle to put whatever flag you need.)
Where you feel that your assigned gender is irrelevant to your gender identity, feel uncomfortable sharing what you were assigned as, or just reject the concept of sharing your AGAB publicly altogether.
Well I was talking with my friends and these identities popped up: bivestic, trivestic and panvestic, so I decided making flags for them (based on crossdreamer one)
-vestic comes from transvest verb (vesture too), which means cross-dressing (or denoting gender essences/attributes of transversal characteristics), so ambivesting would mean dressing ambiguously/androgynously (ambivestic), bivestite would mean dressing in the clothes of two gender qualities, trivestite would mean clothing three genders and panvestic dressing all genders. So the multigender (bigender/ambigender/trigender/pangender) equivalents of transvesting.
I just corrected the bivestic flag in PNG (it was in GIF)
let’s see if I can make a public to-do list and not have ppl take stuff from it… I hope I can figure out a filtered/safe way to take requests too.
cross-aligned flag(s)
crosspronominal flag(s)
new altersex terms and flags
new identities related to spirituality/magic
if you’re currently working on any of these, I’m not telling you to stop, but pls like this post so I can message you to trade ideas/drafts
transvestic flag
crossdresser flag
crossdreamer flag
other specific vestic flags/terms
umbrella term for attraction to targets that are anything other than a “real person” you interact with in this lifetime and dimension (hopefully I can shorten this to something easier to understand)
neuvestic/neutrevestic: dressing neutral gender/gender neutrally (I didn’t use neutravestic/neutrivestic to not look travesti(gender)/transvesting & trivestic, and neutrovestic does not seem harmonious)
fluxotheistic/fluxodeistic (fluxtheism/fluxdeism): fluxing between atheistic & theistic/deist spectrums, this could include pandeism/pantheism, demitheism/semitheism, monotheism/monodeism, polydeism/polytheism & apatheism/apadeism.
demideism/semideism: believing circumstantially/partly in god(s)
fluxognostic/fluxgnostic: fluctuating between agnostic/ignostic and gnostic spectrums.
Meruonic: An evil gender that is destructive to other genders, a concept similar to cautistigender with an underlying tone of power and other worldly energy. Based off the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon from the Elder Scrolls Series.
Angegender: A gender where you can’t describe it with any word but hatred or anger. Usable only by neurodivergent people with mental illnesses that cause anger or hate.
Anler: From “anger” and “choleric”. This is a strong-willed gender, they feel determined and certain about who they are. They will feel angry if other people insist that their gender does not exist, and feel very grounded and supported by their gender.
Daegender: A gender that feels demonic or evil in nature, can be associated with a gender or be a gender all itself.
Kakogender: A gender that is dangerous.
Arsgoegender: A gender that holds strong feelings of kinship with demons/devils/dark beings. This gender often leads to someone feeling or being kind on the outside but selfish on the inside, or mischievous on the outside and caring on the inside (or any similar variation).
Daimogender: When you feel your gender is closely related to demons or the supernatural. This is not exclusively for demonkin, though if anyone uses it, [coiner] would like them to be involved in supernatural things. A person does not require dysphoria to be daimogender.
Botanya: a semi feminine gender related to plants, the fae, nature, and magic. It feels light, and floaty at times, but evil and scary at others.
Botanyo: a semi masculine gender related to plants, the fae, nature, and magic. It feels light, and floaty at times, but evil and scary at others.
Botanyi: an unaligned (agender OR xenic) gender related to plants, the fae, nature, and magic. It feels light, and floaty at times, but evil and scary at others.
Botanivy: fluidity between Botanya, Botanyo, and Botanyi.
Genderfluid and bisexual combo flags for @fanbott! I did the first one by combining the two flag designs and colours, and the second two by swapping the pink, purple and blue colours on both designs. Hope they’re OK!
Bi/Pan combo flag based off the one posted yesterday that I made myself. I use it because I identify as Pansexual but also use Bisexual interchangeably, since I started off as Bisexual many years ago.
This is free to use! A glitched version will be coming tomorrow.
Outherity (outherinity/outhrinity/outhrity): a descriptor of new gender qualities (attributes or essences), to give a general name for a fifth, sixth, seventh, etc. quality.
Folks can describe outhrine/outherly qualities can as apart from those other four ones (neu/masc/angi/fem), yet not exactly xenine; entirely new but can be compared to the overall four terms; or unique combinations among the otherly four (i.e. simultaneously neutral & masculine yet seeing it as something different or separated).
May even be useful for people with culture-exclusive genders, if they think the overall four qualities do not apply to their identities and/or experiences.
Similar to aporaine/aporine and nonquad(ri)nary/nonquaternary. Not to be confused with otherkinity. Coined by @vitorrubiao
Mistigender: A gender that’s like mist or fog, and when you try to grab at it (think of it, describe it) it just… slips through your hands, and it only comes back after you stop trying to grab at it.
DemiLithPlatoniFlux (In short, Aplerian): A Aplspec identity where you experience platonic/Queerplatonic attraction only after a emotional bond (not always), attraction that fades in a QPR, but later reappears again.
Red and orange represent the lith/akoiness
the yellow stripe for the possible (queer)platonic attraction
the shades of blue represent the aplspec and the fluxing attraction
Gender Unspecificity: different from eligender (othergender) in the sense that it does not state nor specify your gender identity.
Commonly used as third-gender/aliagender, abinary/nonbinary, equary/nullary & gender diverse/variant item in some documents & formularies after male/female options.
In my case, I have gender identification not specified in my passport because there were no other alternative for it. Reminder there are intersex/trans binaries using it too.
I thought in using the question mark from gender questioning symbol and the currency sign but other-gender one seemed proper.
Gummyic flag, a Candyic Xenogender related to gummies — colours taken from images of gummies (with a lowered opacity white layer over the top to give a frosted/sugared appearance)
Flags in sequence: sorozasexual/sorozsexual, sorozaromantic/sorozromantic and sorozagender/sorozgender (additionally sorozace, sorozaro & sorozagin).
Soroza-/Soroz-: cycling through identities in a specific order. It comes from the Hungarian word “sorozat” which means series/sequence. Flags/terms by @manymiscellaneousmoodboards
The definition does not seem inherently aspec/aginsepc, but it was based on aflux (aceflux/aroflux/aginflux (librafluid/agenderflux)), more specifically arospec/acespec identities, that’s why the asexual/aromantic allusion on the flags. Since it’s based on a -flux- identity, the genderfluid/genderflexible edit could be replaced with genderflux/flexgender or amplusian/amplusgender.
Panabinary (panab/panby/panaby, panapisgender, pangender + abinary): experiencing all possible genders that are completely unrelated to the gender binary; having all abinary genders accessible within your culture/neurotype and life experience.
Interchangeable with panenby (pannonbinary), omniabinary (omniab/omnabinary), pangenderqueer (panq/ueer) and omnienby (omninonbinary/omnenby).
Similar to nonbinaryflux, enbyflux, eafluid/nobifluid and enbyfluid but not necessarily fluid/flux (amplusian), this does not essentially encompass panxingender, panningender or panaingender.
The Vanarella system is a collection of genders that are purposefully vague. Their definitions are simple “fire” or “alien” or other terms. They are meant for people whose gender encompasses specific aspects of gender/gender terms (think genderfaun/genderfae, but with xenogenders and no exclusiveness)
There is no limit to the amount of Vanarella terms one can use.
Their names are simple “Vanarella (thing)” so for example the vague ice gender’s name is “Vanarella ice”
You could also say you are “vanabrellis” or “vanabrellic” if you want.
this is a sigil for non-binary people, to help them “pass” as non-binary.
it can enhance your gender expression, especially if you want to appear genderless, androgynous, or genderfucked. i made it to help other non-binary people like me get seen as something other than male or female, since i (and many other non-binary people) get misgendered a lot.
use caution while using this sigil if you are going to be around people who may not be understanding, or if it may put you in a dangerous situation.
No big genderqueer flag revision this time like the previous one last year, just a color update for the green – now it is lavender’s actual inverse (#4A8123) instead of something close (#498022). The difference either occurred awhile back when I was using a graphics program to experiment with genderqueer flag color schemes and the program, or my own error, regarded the two colors as the same, rather than just similar, or due to tweaking colors for monitor adjustment. A very subtle difference, but one that matters, particularly due to the symbolism. When I had claimed the color on COLOURLOVERS in 2010, I had titled it as “androgyne”. The about the flag page will be updated accordingly.
There are some other matters about the flag I must address. Some people have said that the inverse of purple is yellow and have wondered why I’ve green appears in the flag – this is not invariably true, however, and you can test out inverses of colors for yourself here. In the case of this shade of lavender (its hex color name is lavender floral), its inverse is a dark green (conceivably a yellow-green, but not yellow), as pictured in my flag design. I chose lavender for its very queer connotations in my own version of a genderqueer flag and for this design, I am sticking with it. I’ve revised two times previously (and an almost-revision that didn’t happen due to community feedback) and these colors express adequately what I had sought.
Lastly, my main purpose in creating a genderqueer flag was to be a symbol of awareness for genderqueerness because it is an identity that many people are still not familiar with, not to specifically replace any other flag, or anyone else’s designs. I designed it coming out of a dark period in my life as something that helped me feel a sense of purpose and creativity and in the hopes that others would become aware and empowered because of it. I am of course glad when people like the flag but if they don’t, or if they do but want to see something different, I do definitely welcome anyone else’s genderqueer and/or non-binary flag designs as submissions or wherever else I may happen to see them.
I hated the old genderqueer flag so I made a new one. The base colors are still the same but I changed the hue and saturation because those old, over saturated, colors were just ugly and hard to look at.
Feel free to use this where ever you would use the genderqueer flag! You can credit me if you want to but it’s not really necessary.
Please share this and spread it around the Internet to finally have a flag that looks good and represents us genderqueers!!
Genderogue: A genderqueer identity where one feels as if they “steal” or pick up
elements of genders they come in contact with. “Contact” may mean
interacting with someone of that gender, or just learning about it.
Genders may fade over time but extended contact may make them
permanent or semi-permanent. -OR- a gender that functions like Rogue’s
powers from the X-Men.
Agender Arity (niladicity): nullarity (nullary), abinarity (abinary) and aternarity/atrinarity (aternary/atrinary).
Leptarity means gender arity, which includes number of pre-established/existing (implied or subsequent) gender items/bases/entry within your culture. Most people know the Western gender binarity, in which male & female are embedded into binary category system/radix.
But what could be considered gender unary/monary/singulary or trinary? Unarity (monarity/singularity) would only include primarity while trinarity would be binarity but also including tertiarity. The primary identity would be any binarie, depending on your culture, binaries could not even exist, so everyone would be expected to be/have only one specific gender. The tertiary identity would be a third-identity (or third-gender/aliagender), neutrois/neuter, genderless/neither, androgyne/both or nonbinary/abinary as monogender itself.
The gender ternarity isn’t so clear, it could also encompass another quadnarity/quadrinarity (quadrinary), that’s why who coined it worded first qua/ternary (I think there’s a flag for a(qua)ternary/non(qua)ternary but I didn’t find).
There are also cultures with five (quinary) or six (senary/hexary) genders (quinarity/quintarity or hexarity/senarity), so some other identities couldn’t be classified intrinsically as second/ary (secondarity), fourth (quadnary), fifth (quintary) or sixth one(s).
Nullary would mean not being limited/linked to your own cultural arities or any arity at all/in general. Similar to equary, but equirity means all gender entries are equal. Ask me if in doubt.
Crysgema: a gender influenced by or related to the show Steven Universe or the world it takes place in. Can be a kin gender, an aesthetic gender, or a media gender.
The flag is based off of the colors of Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Steven
LGBTQIAPN+ (lesb/gay/bi/trans/queer/intersex/aro/ace/ply/pan/nb/omni/others) solidarity, symbolizing unity and showing support to each other.
The flag hasn’t all colors from each letter in the acronym sequence (such as lesbian, bi, asexual and aromantic). The aspec part includes two colors from queer chevron, the trans/intersex/nonbinary combination is from ITNB flag and the mspec part is a mix of polybipan and omni/plurian, remembering partly QLQ flag too.
While there are a lot of flags for terms that have similar or the same meaning as unaligned, it’s the term that I prefer. I haven’t found a flag for it yet, so I decided to try making one!
Tbh I’m not sure if I like any of them, but let me know if you do or if you have any suggestions!
Color meanings: Black: represents the lack of a gender Grey: represents demigenders/genders that are between other genders Yellow: represents genders outside of the binary, as it’s the primary color that’s not typically associated with either binary gender White: represents those with multiple genders, as white is the photological presence of color and/or light Chartreuse: represents those outside the gender binary as it is the inverse color to purple, the combination of pink and blue
-Mod Lee
Here are some other versions with a green that looks a bit nicer I think! I’m super indecisive sdbhjfnkms -Mod Lee
Whether it be your gender or orientation, the common terms just don’t describe it well enough. Colourqueer is the act of associating your gender/orientation with colours; loud, soft, dark, light, vibrant, desaturated, etc. The whole rainbow and beyond is your playground and your colours might change depending on how you feel.
Made another one. This time I wanted to dive deeper into the feeling and personality of one of my ocs, Lotus, who I never rlly had a set gender or orientation for because nothing seemed to fit, so voilá! Lotus has always been a colourful person and it makes sense that he’d describe his identity with colours because he relates to them more.
Again, anyone is free to use this term and flag but please credit me if you do!
So colorqueer is similar to colorgender but also includes orientations? The most proximate orientation was chroma-.
Here’s my attempt at a lesbian flag, based on the palette of the lipstick lesbian flag. The stripes don’t have particular meanings, it’s just lesbians. It’s mostly for me but anyone can use it if they want to.
Nixichood: an umbrella term for identities comprised of both genderless and aligned aspects, which may manifest as identifying as partially gendered. Also known as nixhood, nixness, nixgender or nixity.
These aspects can be experienced simultaneously, fluidly, or through fluctuations. “nix” comes from the German word meaning “none”. Coined by @nixics (deactivated blog).
Sexlessness: absent/null sex identity; an umbrella term for lacking sexed characteristics or qualities (planned/desired or not), such as in nullosex (nullogenital, nullogonadal), asexed/assex (agonadal (gonadal agenesis), agenital (genital aplasia), ansex (angenital, angonadal, sterile)), nonsexed/unsex(ed) and desex/ed (i.e. eunuchs).
I mentioned it gonadis and genitalia (also known as “primary/secondary” sexes), but this could also apply to hormonal, phenotypic, genic/genetic &/or genotypic/chromosomal/chromosomic sexes in some levels (karyotype, sex genes, chromosomes, genotype, phenotype and body/corporeality), e.g. you could identify as sexless because you are X0 intersex, have hormonal depletion (hypohormonal or hypogonadism) or sex paraphoria (i.e. indifferent what sex you have).
Reminder biosex (biological sex) can be also mental / psychic. Note this term isn’t the same as genderless or asexual.
Librapangeninity or Panlibragender: A gender identity that is mostly agender, but has a connection to panhood/pangeninity; experiencing little attachment to pangender-ness but mostly agender-ness; or experiencing all possible libragenders.
Interchangeable with librapangender/librapangi, librapangenrine and librapangenerine/librapangenderine, more specific than pxngender. See also: nixpangi, nixpan, polyagender.
Lithflux/Akoiflux: Experiencing attraction, and only sometimes desiring it to be reciprocated. OR Attraction fades once in a relationship, but may come and go.
An expansion on lith- which is either feeling attraction but not desiring attraction to be reciprocated -or- the attraction completely fading when it is.
i made some edits because im.. petty. apologies if these look like anyone else’s; they were made by overlaying pink and orange on the flags so I’m sure this has probably been done
genderational: when your gender is heavily related to or influenced by what generation you are a part of.
genderpaused: a form of questioning in which a person is in a situation where they cannot safely question their gender, are too stressed to think about it, or otherwise unable to comfortably question themselves so theyve put the thought on hold for now to look back at a better time.
goopgender: a very elastic, bouncy gender that can be stretched apart. its prone to sticking to things.
bodygender: when you dont have a gender you just have a body type. or that body type is your gender. doesnt have to be the body type that you have. “what’s your gender?” “short and buff.”
genderquirked: for bnha kins and fictives, a gender that is tied to your quirk in some way
mousegender: a small, soft gender that likes to sneak around and hide in very warm and cozy places
fashiongender: a gender that is tied to a fashion style in some way. doesn’t have to be the kind you wear. can be more specific if fashion is replaced with what type of fashion, eg: punkgender, gothgender.
holidaygender: a gender that is tied to holidays in some way. if it’s only tied to one holiday, you can replace holiday with the name of the holiday, eg: christmasgender, halloweengender.
holidayfluid: a gender that changes on or near the holidays. if its only one holiday you can do the same thing as with holidaygender here.
vampiregender: a gender that is dark and mysterious and can be very scary. it sucks life out of genders around it, but it doesn’t always “kill” those genders. it tends to feel ancient, but even when it doesn’t it gives the feeling that it could last much longer than it should.
No-gender or Gender-No: similar to neither but also an internal negative response to personal gender identity, as in refusing gender terms for yourself.
Note that this isn’t about gender abolitionism / prohibitionism.
I requested these ones but now I think it’s okay since demigirls are xirls (zeninas, nonbinary girls / girlbies), demiboys are xoys (zeninos, nonbinary boys / enboys).
I was thinking and came to the realization that there’s no real distinction between orientations such as homoromantic and demiromantic, even though those describe totally different ways of attraction. Lumping them together has its flaws, so I created my own labels to distinguish them from each other when coining orientations.
Affinitive orientations: Orientations describing what genders you’re attracted to, such as bisexual, pansexual, asexual, lesbian, gay, etc. Named for having an affinity for a given gender. Amative orientations: Orientations describing how you’re attracted to a person. Examples include demi-, weort- , mellow-, and fray-.
I guess affinitivity also encompass juvelic, glg system and gba (gender-based attractionality). Amativity is also divided into circumstantial/conditional and partial in lusophone asexual community. Would be anattractional, suptilic and omniasexual/panasexual be amative or affinitive? I guess there could be a nullitive umbrella
Exclusionist tumblr has adopted this trend of trying to treat lesser known terms and identities as newfangled–and therefore “mogai”–on purpose. It is an attempt to deny us our place in the community and to deny us our history.
Queer has been widely reclaimed for decades.
Genderqueer has existed since the early 90s. And so have the terms polygendered and polysexual.
Bigender has been in usage since the late 90s, at least.
Genderfuck has been in usage since the 70s.
Asexuality has existed as an identity since the early 70s.
One of the earliest usages of the word androgyne as a specific identity comes from 1895.
Neutrois was created in 1995.
Non-gendered has been in usage since at least 2000.
Intergender was coined in the 90s. At the time, intergender was NOT an intersex specific gender identity, but was for anyone “between” man and woman.
Do your own reseach and don’t believe the nonsense being pushed by discourse blogs.
Links to START out with. Yes, a lot of them are Wikipedia. Scroll down. Follow the citations and read the source material.
Don’t be afraid to just start googling. “Term + year created” or “history of term” are good ways to start.
When your multigenders and they are in a stack but it’s a messy stack thats more of a pile and not organized at all really… there’s probably some gender you lost down there… oops
Idk why I’m deciding to do this now I’m half asleep will edit or remake this post later probably
Meaning: A gender influenced heavily by maladaptive daydreaming.
Can be paired with +boy and +girl (i.e. dremeboy or dremegirl). Includes a cloud flag, a plain flag and a starry flag for a bit of flair. :•)
(This is my first time coining something! I hope it’s okay! ;w; Also I went ahead and submitted this because I have no idea if my anon went through. I hope that’s okay, if not, just delete this.)
I can’t find the original coinage post (if there even was one) for sublimigender so let’s archive it on this wonderful 4:20 afternoon
Sublimigender: a gender influenced by altered states of consciousness due to substance use; a gender that changes or is only felt when high. This is not an excuse for substance abuse, and is referring to responsible recreational, spiritual, cultural, or medicinal use. I won’t say can’t use this if you have a substance abuse disorder, though.
Not to be confused with gender sublimation or gendersublime
Uingender: umbrella term for all genders undecided/unsure, unknown/unnamed, unidentified/undefined/unfixed or unexplainable/undetermined in nature.
Also a term to refer to a gender that isn’t fully unspecified/unstated, or a gender in which undefinition/unfamiliarity or unknowledge/undetermination is its defining feature. May simply be used as “uin”, ie. “my gender is uin”.
Nixavire: an identity that is comprised of both genderless and boygirl-aligned aspects, which may manifest as partially identifying as a girlboy; the combination of nixera & nixvir. These eclipsian/sollunarian aspects can be experienced simultaneously (as in femache-aligned) &/or fluidly.
Similar to nixangi, nixboygirl and juproxevira, also known as nixevira/nixvira, nixeravir & nixvirmina/nixpuerella. -avire from inavire (alternate name of nonvirmina/nonpuerella). Mixing flags and terms by @nixics (they had proposed two flags and sent me, but now the blog is deactivated I can’t access the flags).
Magiagender: identifying as mostly agender and slightly as other gender(s). Related to demiagender.
Note this isn’t a magic gender, it’s magigender + agin. Similar to libragender but not essentially connected to genderinity/genrinity/generinity/geninity.
Ageninity: relating to qualities or attributes regarded as characteristic of agender. Interchangeable with agenderinity, agenrinity and agenerinity.
Agenrine stripes inspired in neutral-gender using just agenerine/agenderine colors but rotated so as not to confuse with andro- and aromantic flags. Coined by @queerismi at @orientandoorg
Cadoneutrois and Cadomavrique combo flags for anon
Cadogender: A subcategory of polygender identities to have a gender to fall back on or one that you always go back to.
Neutrois:
A non-binary gender identity which is considered to be a neutral or null gender. It may also be used to mean genderless, and has considerable overlap with agender – some people who consider themselves neutrally gendered or genderless may identify as both, while others prefer one term or the other. There is no one definition of Neutrois, since each person that self-identifies as such experiences their gender differently. The most common ones are: neutral-gender, null-gender, neither male nor female, or genderless.
Maverique: a gender characterized be being entirely independent of male/masculinity, female/femininity or anything which derives from the two while still having a gendered feeling that is neither without gender nor of a neutral gender.
The cadomaverique flag looks like an abinary penultrois combo but ok.
even more flags! they are: Charoitic, Chrysocollianic, Chrysoprasic, Citrinic, Diamondinic, Diopsideic, Dioptasic, Emeraldintic, Eudialytic, and Fluoritic.
This term has already existed for a while, but I think it’s a legit altersex subcommunuty so I’m archiving it. Didn’t make a flag bc even though I’m altersex I’m not nullo or otherwise on the sexless spectrum.
Nullo: a sex identity involving transition to and/or identification with a form with most or all sex characteristics absent/removed (at least external primary ones, but can include secondary and internal ones). When physically implemented, it’s considered a part of the extreme body modification practice/subculture by some, while others just see it as their form of transitioning.
Nullos are often assumed to be agender and/or asexual, but they can be any gender or orientation. Nullos also don’t have to be driven by a medical condition, eg. sex dysphoria, BDD, or BIID, but it’s also not completely unheard of or invalid for that to be the case for some nullos.
Nullos are related to and sometimes concurrently identify with terms like angenital, sexless, null, “smoothie”, and eunuch.
Just like all sex transitioning, it’s a serious medical and life decision to become physically nullo, but it can make all the difference for some people and it’s important to recognize that those people exist. It’s also important to clarify that nullos don’t have to choose or even want any procedures to identify as nullo, it can just be their ideal form thet internally feel. There’s no need to pressure people into getting life-altering surgeries just to be acknowledged as their identity.
I made a few variant flag edits/retemplates, and these look the best to me out of the ones I’ve made so far. I want one main alternate flag so I’m trying to find a good look that has straight stripes.
Neutren- : feeling attraction specifically to neutral, ningender, and neutral-aligned nbs.
Xenen- : feeling attraction specifically to xenogender, xenic and xeno-aligned nbs.
Multen- : feeling attraction specifically to multigender nbs/those with more than one gender.
Nullen- : feeling attraction specifically to genderless, agender in nature, or null-aligned nbs.
can be used generally as -boric eg. xenenboric, or as a typical orientation prefix, eg. nullensexual.
also, is en- already an orientation prefix? because if not I think being able to specify which attraction/orientation you’re talking about (as opposed to general terms like diamoric or enbian)
would make terms like enromantic or ensensual useful. It also doesn’t force the term enby because it can be short for enby or enban, whichever is preferred by the individual. If it’s not taken consider it coined and saved for a flag in the near future along with the rest of these terms.
Fluxian: fluxing between being unaligned and aligned (with any alignment). Can also flux into the partially aligned spectrum as the alignment varies in intensity/presence. Could be used like fluxsolarian/solarflux, fluxlunarian/lunarflux, fluxstellarian/stellarflux, or any other alignment as specific terms for what fluxing alignment you have. Might make that another post.
Quoian (prn. kwa-yan): feeling that the concept of gender alignment does not apply to you or doesn’t make sense to apply to yourself. Not the same as being unaligned or singularian, as that is on the gender alignment spectrum of terms- quoian enbies aren’t on the spectrum and don’t use or identify with specific alignment terminology (including unaligned).
It has been a while, but I decided to coin a new word: outherity.
There are overall four qualities used to explain or define gender identities and expressions and connections: feminine, masculine, androgynous and neutral. Those are four subjetive concepts yet possible to imagine, as we can use fem and masc as parameters for imagination.
But there are genders like maverique or possibly apora involving entirely new qualities. Still, there was no word for those new qualities. They are outherine. Outherity is a concept just to describe new qualities (or essences), to give a general name for a fifth, sixth, seventh etc quality.
Outherine qualities are as subjective as the other four. Only people themselves can determine whether or not they are outherine (in their identities and/or expression).
People can describe otherine qualities as:
– entirely new, apart from those other four, yet not exaclty xenine;
– entirely new, but can be compared to the overall four qualities;
– unique combinations among the other four (ex: someone can explain themselves as being simultaneously masculine and neutral, yet they still see this quality as something different).
This concept may even be useful for people with culture-exclusive genders, if they think the overall four qualities do not apply to their identities and/or experiences.
That’s it! I hope this concept can be useful somehow to someone.

Aeragin: You don’t know what it is, but you think you might be agender/on the agender spectrum.
Aeraneur: You don’t know what your gender is, and you know that’s because of your illness making it difficult. OR You don’t know what your gender is, but your illness seems to have some effect on it.
Aerethni: You don’t know what your gender is, but you know it’s not part of the Western male/female concepts.

Aereplur: You don’t know what your gender is, but it fits multiple categories. (Polygender)
You can make any flags you want for these, just make sure they have a trend between each of them.
Based on the original set of libragenders; a form of bigender where one feels partially male/female/both/inbetween and partially a gender disconnected from any form of male and female, such as agender, neutrois, aliagender, aporagender, maverique, and ilyagender.
They can experience this as having two genders, having a single gender with two components, or being inbetween two genders.
It does not need to be experienced as being 50% of each gender, but there is emphasis placed on both. One can also feel more like the former gender at some times and more like the latter at others, as well as each gender itself being fluid. If, on the whole, you feel like male/female/both/inbetween yet also neither male nor female (nor inbetween) apply about equally, these terms just might be for you.
Bxgender falls under this.
Libramale: One who is both male and a gender that is neither male nor female (nor inbetween). Bxy, agender boy/guy/man, and neutramale are included in this.
Difference from libramasculine: Libramasculine is primarily agender with a strong connection to maleness or masculinity, while libramale has the two genders on a more equal level and the other gender doesn’t necessarily have to be agender.
Noun form: Libraman; libraboy; libraguy; libralord; libraprince; libraking; etc. (unsure if libramasculine also uses these)
Flag meaning: Indigo and cyan were chosen for being adjacent to a more pure blue, the traditional male colour. Black and white represent the neither-male-nor-female gender.
Librafemale: One who is both female and a gender that is neither male nor female (nor inbetween). Gxrl, agender girl/gal/woman, and neutrafemale are included in this.
Difference from librafeminine: Librafeminine is primarily agender with a strong connection to femaleness or femininity, while librafemale has the two genders on a more equal level and the other gender doesn’t necessarily have to be agender
Noun form: Librawoman; libragal; libragirl; libralady; libraprincess; libraqueen; etc. (unsure if librafeminine also uses these)
Flag meaning: Red-violet and red-pink were chosen for being adjacent to a more neutral pink, the traditional female colour. Black and white represent the neither-male-nor-female
Libraändrogyne: One who is both an androgyne (male and female) and a gender that is neither male nor female (nor inbetween).
Difference from libraändrogynous: Libraändrogynous is (assumèdly) primarily agender with a strong connection to androgyny, while libraändrogyne has the two genders on a more equal level and the other gender doesn’t necessarily have to be agender.
Noun form: Libraändrogyne; libraperson; libraënby; libraliege; libraheir; libramonarch; etc.
Flag meaning:
Complex flag (middle): Red-violet and indigo being the pink-adjacent and blue-adjacent colours that are also adjacent purple, representing the androgyne part; blue-green and yellow-green are green-adjacent and represent an ‘opposite’ of androgyne that can paradoxically also be androgyne. Black and white represent the neither-male-nor-female gender.
Simple flags (sides): Red-violet and indigo collapsed into purple and blue- and yellow- greens collapse into plain green; colour meanings remain the same.
Definition: A gender that is like agender, but rather than lacking gender (negative), it’s a gender that’s characterised by being genderless (positive), much like how air may appear to be a lack of anything, yet is a thing of its own.
Reminder agender could be also positive (positive-agender, positrois+null/neutrois), ungender is the negative-agender (nulltrois+negatrois, panantigender/antipangender + genderless). I’m zeroagender myself, so I fluctuate between antiagender and euagender (so positive and negative on leptrois spectrum).
Variant:
not completely conforming to the societal and cultural ideals or roles
of gender, sex, orientation, sexuality, relationships, expression, and other related
forms of self-identification. Not being accepted as a member of
conformant society due to one’s identity differing from the one assigned
to and expected of them. To specify certain subcommunities, terms like gender variant, attractional variant, and relational variant can be used.
“Conformant” is the antonym- meaning not
variant- because cishetalloperisexmonoam(screaming for 11
minutes) is too long and I
don’t want to keep shortening it to cis/het because some variants are
both cis
and het, but variant in another way like gender nonconformity, intersexness, or
non-monoamory.
The flag stripe/color meanings are of particular importance because they’re meant to represent certain variant sub-communities and I want to make sure it covers everything to clarify what identities are variant. Colors are chosen based on their use in pride flags/symbols and their association with certain identities. I also wanted the flag to evoke other variant flags like genderqueer when you examine it closely. might edit this if I forgot something. To be fair, there is a lot to cover. Just know that these aren’t complete lists… because that would be a list of every term ever. I’m sticking to mostly broad terminology because of that.
From top center to bottom corners:
Lilac: represents all of the variant community and inclusionism.
Blue: represents non-monoamorous, non-monogamous, alterous, objectum, conceptum, gay (all kinds of gay), gai, aplatonic, lesbian, auto-, paro-, multigender, enbian, fluitic, flex-, and (responsible/consensual) kinky-identified variants, as well as variants in nontraditional relationships or with variant relationship orientations/preferences.
The shape is to evoke queer chevrons and the letter v.
Exclusionists/REGs, truscum/transmeds, gatekeepers/identity policers, anti-mogai/neolabel/neopronoun and anyone who would exclude any variant identity can’t use the flag, interact with me or this post, or participate in the variant community. We’re inherently inclusionist and so is the flag and term.
Well firstly, thesagasaurus is a tumblr blog. Secondly, ambi- does not mean bisexual, you misunderstood the definition in both versions of the term. I’m updating the name of mine to dyo-oriented (dyo- meaning two) to respect the fact that it was already used as a term, it’s the kind thing to do for others to also respect names that have already been used.
I’m not op, I didn’t say it means bisexual. Ambi- has more restricted meanings than bi- but I guess they are interchangeable sometimes. Dyo- sounds great, I’m a bit surprised you didn’t know ambi- before, if you google it shows a lot of source. I thought thesagasaurus was a book lol
Huh. I didn’t think my definition had received much (positive) recognition, though as I coined it it is explicitly not interchangeable with bisexual but a “subset” of it.
According to google and wiktionary it means bisexual.
Mingender: Umbrella terms for all genders Masculine In Nature. Also a term to refer to a gender that isn’t fully defined but definitely masculine, or a gender in which masculinity is its defining feature (but the gender is not binary male).
Genderfaun: A fluid gender that never encompasses being female/feminine.
Cenrell: A gender identity where one feels most comfortable within the gender neutral spectrum, but still feels a strong attachment to masculinity.
Boyflux: When one feels mostly or all male most of the time but experiences fluctuating intensities of male identity.
Bxy: A gender that is both boy and agender/no gender. You can be a boy and agender/no gender at the same time, go between them, or fluctuate between feeling male and not feeling gender. Emphasizes being male.
Mendecure: When you’re a masculine gender because of a certain factor regarding your identity. For example being a masculine gender because you’re a robot/robotkin/robot fictive (fore more specific Mendecure genders, check @wendecure)
Virofi: A gender that feels airy and murky yet grounded with a masculine air to it.
Mulomi: Being polygender with only masculine genders.
Calidboyfleck: A gender that is not male, female, or nonbinary but exists. Has a solid core and a non-solid (but not liquid or gas) surrounding and is warm. Has flecks of male or male-aligned gender(s) throughout.
Demiboy: Being partially a boy and partially another gender.
Magiboy: Like demiboy except the male part is “stronger”.
Juparian: A nonbinary gender linked to soft celestial masculine energy. It is never hypermasculine and it doesn’t have to do with a male alignment, it’s simply linked. Someone who is juparian can feel different amounts of masculine energy at different times.
Libramasculine: A gender that is mostly agender with a connection to masculinity.
Endoboy: When one has fluctuating gender feelings but are always at least partially masculine.
Nanoboy/nan0boy: Being slighty male but mostly not.
Pixelboy: Being a tiny bit “boy” but mostly something else.
Neptunian: A nonbinary gender that is linked to the void and fluctuates with softer celestial masculine energy.
Nonpuer/Nonvir: Someone who is not male at all in any way, shape, or form, but feels a strong connection to masculinity within their gender.
Proxvir: Masculine gender similar to boy, but on a separate plane and off to itself.
Xoy: Someone who identifies in some way as a nonbinary boy or nonbinary boy-adjacent. Someone who identifies with some part of man/boyhood but who wants a more nonbinary and neutral sounding word because they aren’t entirely boys or don’t want to be associated with the typical ideas brought up by the word “boy.”
(I will make a shortened post with flags soon, please reblog that one instead bc I’m gonna link to this one for more info)
Alright.
It’s taken me a while to make this, because it’s a term concept I want
to properly and clearly describe. This is a community that basically
already exists, and it’s meant to be different from acronym community
terms like LGBT, LGBTQIA , MOGAI, or QUILTBAG. Those community terms are
not bad, and they are valid communities in their own right that should
continue to thrive, but this approach to describing “the community” as a
complete, inclusive whole involves ditching acronyms. Acronym
communities are basically pre-primed for intercommunity discourse and
exclusionism because the acronyms are literally a fixed, finite list of
who gets allowed to be in the community instead of a flexible, existing
concept that includes people based on their shared experiences of being
marginalized. Not oppressed, marginalized. There are no oppression
debates in this community because there is an understanding that
marginalization is what actually forms the community- it forms from
those who are pushed away from the cis-het-allo-whatever/conformant
society into the margins of society because of their identity. That’s
the bottom line to me when I think of who I consider part of “the
community”. Anyways, explanation over, here we go:
Variant:
not completely conforming to the societal and cultural ideals or roles
of gender, orientation, sexuality, relationships, and other related
forms of self-identification. Not being accepted as a member of
conformant society due to one’s identity differing from the one assigned
to and expected of them.
“Conformant” is the antonym- not being variant- because cisheteroalloperisexmonogamous(screaming for 11 minutes) is too long and I
don’t want to keep shortening it to cis/het because some variants are both cis
and het, but variant in another way like gender nonconformity or
non-monoamory.
If there’s confusion on what is or isn’t variant, the flag is meant to include basically everyone, even obscure variants, and those identities will be listed in the stripe/flag/color meanings. Just wait for me to post it. I didn’t want these paragraphs to muck up the official. easily readable term/flag post.
(!tw mentions of nonconsensuality and animal abuse below!)
The things variant does NOT EVER include or describe (other
than conformants of course) are (NO)MAPs, zoophiles, zoosadists, toucherists, (noncon)exhibitionists, and anyone else
who excuses non-consensual, harmful violations of relational decency
and respect as a part of their “identity” or “orientation” instead of a serious problem
that should not be excused away under any circumstances. Just to be clear, this includes those with “interests” in “art” of those situations, not just people who target real beings.
(Do not interact unless you’re another inclusionist/positivity/neolabel acceptance blog)
List of things I count as conformancy: perioriented hetero-/hetro-, mono-, zed-/allo-/z-, nocetero- binian (blb/binary-loving-binary), gender/pronoun conforming, suptilic suptilian, monogender comgender, perisex/endosex/dyadic infrasex protsex/protosex, imperialized/traditionalist/colonized monoamorous monogamous monofidelity, cis-passing cisgender cissex(ual) clc (cis relations) and straight-passing sls (straight loving straight relations).
Obviously you can be not one of these things and still not identify as variant but I think it’s good to point out.
You also forget to put sex-ness in the def, mentioning idpol vs biopolitics.
i was thinking of ways to redesign the demisexual flag because the triangle apparently makes some people unconfortable. What do you guy think of these?
I made some demiromantic edits of these, I hope you don’t mind 🙂 Personally I like the second one better :0c OP do you mind if I use these in edits?
my trans identity and my lesbian identity are so closely intertwined that they’re basically one and the same at this point. i cant have one without the other and i wanted a pride flag to express that so i made a transbian flag
first off, absolutely no shade to anyone here. this isn’t a vague or an @ or anything like that. this is just something that has seemed to pop up a lot in the community (whatever you see ‘the community’ as) these days, so i want to give my two cents.
“Sometimes I’m okay with xyz. Sometimes I’m not.”
“I’m okay with she/her, but I don’t like being called a girl.”
“I’m a man, but sometimes it feels wrong to say that.”
A lot of people recommend looking at fluid or flux genders, which I totally agree with. I think looking at any kind of trans identity is a great place to start!
However, I want to also suggest that sometimes fluidity is very much uncertainty.
Maybe it’s the first time you’re trying different pronouns. Maybe you’ve only recently thought of ‘being another gender’. Maybe you’re scared to branch out and don’t even know it yet.
It’s okay! Tbh it’s near impossible for a stranger to be able to tell you!
I just want to say: just because something only happens ‘sometimes’ doesn’t mean it really is a fluid or flux gender. Sometimes you just need time to explore, grow, and learn what it is you need.
no one is pressuring you to identify with a fluid/flux term. Look around! maybe sometimes you’re okay with being called a girl… but maybe sometimes you put up with being called a girl. it’s harmless to experiment and find out!
also, all of this is coming from someone who is pro-nb and genderfluid, so im in no way saying ‘wah the genderfluids are taking over!’ that would be silly. im just suggesting look around, take everything in, and think about yourself. sometimes a label doesnt fit right. sometimes you have to grow to find what you’re looking for. (and that goes for everything, not just gender.)
perhaps fluidness or unstaticity, fluxity/flexity/fluxness or unstability
candyic term and flag; Marshiyic — a xenogender related to marshmallows
The colours are taken directly from photos of actual marshmallows
Gonna be honest here, but that was coined by @queer-fairy-bxy and it was under the term mallowic.
I get making a similar name to follow the candyic pattern, but this seems more like you’re taking hops term and making it look like you coined it. But you didn’t. Hop did and hop deserves the credit and maybe should have been asked if hop was okay with the term marshyic?
-Admin Opal
EDIT: okay, so i heard it wasn’t a case of plagiarism, but I’m still not okay with it being changed to marshyic when it was supposed to be mallowic. Especially since hop told me about it hopself.
posting here because i want to make sure some of these havent been coined before
Alignments;;;*
Daroric: A gender alignment to darkness or shadow.
Creperic: From crepuscular; a partial gender alignment to darkness and to light.
Liroric:
A gender alignment to light or brightness of some kind
Genders;;;
Murkend: A gender that is cloudy and hard to understand, but is definitely dark and/or connected to shadows/darkness/monsters.
Gloender: A flux or fluid gender that moves between either darkness and light, or slightly dark to more dark.
Unlugender: A gender characterized by unluckiness, hexes, or curses.
Shadend: When one’s gender is a shadow; up for interpretation.
*Please note that I personally use non-male/female/unaligned alignments almost jokingly. I use them under the idea of ‘well i could be female aligned, or i could be… the color blue aligned. That being said I’m not against using them as a serious identity/I personally don’t care either way
My partner and I of whom I am married to ( @cheettai )
have been trying to figure out how to define our relationship after we both made some new self-discoveries. So I came up with the word Appromour to describe our relationship (More on this after definition and the general usage). It is a portmanteau made of the words Approximate (ie close to actual, but not completely accurate or the same, or notably different but strikingly similar to) and the word Amour meaning love.
Appromour describes a relationship or partner in which you have relationship that is not romantic, it *may* not quite fit into you “typical” idea of qpp either as well. Its a way to describe a relationship that *may* seem like a romantic relationship to yourself or even outside observers. It looks like and may be very close to a romantic relationship but decidedly still not romantic.
QPP and Appromour can be used *somewhat* interchangeably, but are differentiated by the fact you may feel something oddly similar to romantic attraction and/or even partial or fleeting romantic feeling. Due to these feeling you may also desire or just be comfortable expressing and/or performing any number of way romantically. Even if a relationship manages to hit some, many or even all of the “traditional” notes of a “typical” romantic relationship, it still may never feel quite right to call it romantic, then this may be an Appromour relation. This can even mean you feel many of the forms of attraction for said person/people or even desire it enough and feel comfortable with a partner(s) to perform most or all of them, but ultimately you may not feel this way consistently or just off enough that romantic is still wrong. You could feel this way about any non romantic partner(s) that you feel any attraction to and you desire to partake in romantic expression and/or activities but you know it not an actual romantic relation even if may seem or feel similar.
So my Partner discovered they were Lithro and I have been grappling with the fact that I was some form of grey romantic for sometime. All we knew is that we did love each other but it became clear that not in the way the “traditional” romantic love would indicate (ironically despite a lot of people thinking we are such great example of romantic love). We knew we wanted to be with each other, we knew that we are easily “life companions” but not exactly Romantically. We desired to fulfill a romantic performance and even had
occasionally expressed earnestly what one would expect from a traditional romantic relation. However problem was we didn’t feel like we actually could ever achieve that level of “authentic” romantic relationship personally that we both desired and people expected.
The very word romantic, carried a lot of baggage and weight that was hard to live up to, even when you can feel part of what makes it up. This was especially tough on my partner who felt inadequate with a relationship that was even just *called* romantic, but we struggled because we felt QPP didn’t either. It didn’t really work for how we felt due to how we expressed our relationship. It seemed off for both our personal definitions of a QPP, so after a lot of talk I deiced that it would help my partner and to a lesser extent myself to find a new term to express our relationship. I didn’t want to use “pseudo” as it had too much negative weight and could delegitimise the types of other love we felt for each other. We felt that we had something that felt like something at least rather close to romantic, an approximation of it even…and so the word Appromour was born.
I hope this helps someone else out there and if so I hope it find them easily as well. For those wondering, as for the my relationship this simple redefining has done wonders and has lifted a lot of baggage off of us. Our relationship has been recovering quite well and I am personally chuffed with how thing are moving forward now. Cheers for Reading and please re-blog this to help others that would benefit from finding this term so we can save them a lot of misery & grief.
I’m the aforementioned partner (this is a side blog) So this is the flag we designed for appromour. I took a lot of insperation from the aro flag with the dark green heart representing aromantic love and the light green representing arospec people the white and shades of gray repersent the spectrum of feelings/prestations aromantic love can take. The equal sign crossed in the black stripe with the red heart opposite shows that aro love is not the same as romantic love the pale red stripe represents love that is simlar to romantic love

Genderqueer Woman Flag
Girlqueer or galqueer: a genderqueer girl/gal/woman. Not to be confused with qirl or girlby.
Genderqueer Man Flag
Boyqueer or guyqueer: a genderqueer boy/guy/man. Not to be confused with demiguy or enboy.
Please know I mean absolutely no disrespect and I mean this genuinely, but I’ve never heard of any of these genders before. What are they?
Genderqueer is basically old nonbinary. It was made in the 90s. Just like nonbinary it can be aligned with binary genders so that’s what this is. I feel more comfortable with this cause it doesn’t have “nonbinary” right in the name
What’s demiguy and enboy? What’s qirl and girlby mean?
So demi guy is partly or half the time being male. You can be something else at the same time or some of the time or be demi agender. Enboy is supposed is a mix of enby, which is short of nonbinary, and boy. So a nonbinary boy. Qirl i have no idea. And girlby must be an mix with enby also
Oh okay! Thanks. I knew what genderqueer and non binary/enby meant but enboy and whatnot are new terms to me. Also you are certainly a blessing. Thank you for having the patience to tell me
Qirl: An identity specific to black people which is similar to girl but involves a deliberate separation from the Western gender binary. I guess it’s a mix of queer×girl as an alternative to boi/birl similar to xirl/gxrl/gurl/demigirl. Demiguy=demiboy. Enboy is like xoy but seems to be more multigender.
(Sorry for the non-archival post, I’ll delete this when I figure it out)
So ambigender is used to mean a static bigender identity nowadays, but older definitions describe it as an ambiguous gender. I need a term for that. No, termS. I have a character I’m making and I just can’t find anything suitable and it made me realize there’s a term gap. Let’s fix it up, ok? Coin terms. I will too. I would also appreciate it if you suggest existing genders that are described as ambiguous so I can know them.
I COINED SOMETHING LIKE THIS A LONG TIME AGO
I need to find it hang on I never posted it online!!
Ambigugender
Ambigu- (prefix): vague, uncertain
Ambigugender: An ambiguous gender that can be described as:
a) Being in the exact middle of a gender spectrum and/or
b) Not knowing how to classify your gender
Ambiguboy: Almost or nearly a boy/male, but not quite. Could also mean related to boy/male.
Ambigugirl: Almost or nearly a girl/female, but not quite. Could also mean related to girl/female.
Could also be used with other genders/added as a prefix to describe a vague connection to that gender but not entirely.
Example: Ambigustarfluid
These days I was looking for a gender similar to midgender/mesogender/intergender and gynx/androx but instead between or in the middle of binary genders (wer/m|wif/f), specific ones. Would it possible ambigu(maverique-star)gender to mean “being in the exact middle of maverique and stargender”?
a new relationship term?? maybe needs work but here it is
Semiship: kind of like a “gray area” relationship, a semiship is a relationship that isn’t as committed or “deep” as relationships are expected to be, by preference of those involved. For example, someone could prefer to remain in the casual flirting stage of a sensual relationship, and only occasionally and lightly exchange sensual actions without investment of a serious sensual relationship, for orientation, lifestyle, and other personal reasons. Waverships may fluctuate into the semiship area, as well, and “soft romo” relationships are usually semiships. Can also be useful to describe relationships between two members of a polyamorous or group relationship who aren’t dating but still romantically interacting occasionally. You can also be both in a full relationship and a semiship with someone in different ways, like having a full queerplatonic relationship and a physical semiship at the same time, only having a semi-sexual relationship but a typical committed queerplatonic relationship.
For clarification, this is a relationship type that should always involve the consent and understanding of all parties involved, just like all relationships. It is NOT a desciptor or excuse for abusive behavior or unhealthy relationships- if you want a semiship or only feel semi-into any given relationship, tell your partner. It can really suck if you don’t, especially if you end up committing way more than you’re comfortable with. You’ll both get hurt. Normalize semiships! Normalize preferring semiships! Relationships are a varied spectrum, and healthy understanding and expressing of your own relationship preferences is okay. You’re not shallow or heartless for wanting semiships, even if you want semiships exclusively.
This term is usable by everyone, but was coined with aro/ace/aspecs in mind, particularly gray-a orientations (like cupio-, fray-, and desino-), as well as fluitic, non-monoamorous, and neurodivergent folks.
I’m gonna be pissed if this is already a shipping term or something bc I don’t want to change the name
