I have never actually seen a TERF use the term bi lesbian before, and the idea that they even would is so counterintuitive to me. I mean, they’re all about “preserving lesbianism” — they even have a term to distinguish themselves from bi women who exclusively date other women (febfems) — so why would they want to “dilute” the meaning by obscuring the lines between different sapphic identities? Calling cis lesbians who date trans women bi lesbians is just…not something they ever do, and I say this as someone essentially hyper-aware of the kind of transmisogyny they perpetrate (because it affects me firsthand, lol).

On the other hand, I’ve now seen dozens of examples of mspec lesbians from throughout history, dozens of posts explaining what the term actually means, and dozens of essays and accounts explaining the shared histories between wlw of various self-applied identities. It’s so obvious that these terms have never had any fixed definitions throughout history and that their application is largely personal and subjective, yet these monosexists continue to tokenize trans women and leverage our oppression against people they personally don’t like, many of whom are transfeminine themselves. It’s so sad to me that some transfems have actually fallen for this BS.

Labelmasc: When your gender is not male, male aligned, and/or masculine, but you’re okay with and use man aligned, male gendered, and masculine labels.

The bottom blue/purple stripes come from the masc flag, and represent masculinity, maleness, and manhood. If someone tells me they’re queer I believe them. If someone tells me they’re straight I believe them. This isn’t that hard

What so like a cis het allo person can just call themselves queer now?

What problem, exactly, are you so concerned about? I don’t know if you’ve noticed but queerness is still very much marginalized, it’s not as “trendy” as people try to act, and straight people aren’t tripping over themselves to call themselves queer. And if you’re worried about being “tricked” by “infiltrators”, like, you know those people can just say that they’re gay? Like they can lie? They’re not going to try and “sabotage” queer spaces by saying “hey I don’t have any marginalized orientations or identities but I’m still totally queer”, they’d just say “hey I’m super gay, love people of the same gender”

What, concretely, are you worried about happening? What’s the worst thing that could happen due to inclusivity? Because the worst things that can happen due to gatekeeping are very well-known, and I’m much more scared of that

It’s less that it’s trendy and more like, I like having my queer-only spaces. Also queer is a bad word. All our words are bad words. They aren’t oppressed, and for a cishetallo to use a slur as their identity feels a little demeaning to me. Like I dont hate them of course but the A was never for Ally . It’s not queer to be normal

Yes! Absolutely! I’m open to doing a lot more birds. And I like the requests! (As someone who doesn’t pay a whole lot of attention to The Discourse, I have learned a lot of new terms through pride bird requests.) But there is kind of a process to adding a new bird that can take a while:

1. Is there a flag that’s commonly used and recognizable?

I’ve gotten a bunch of requests for microlabel birds, and often times I can’t find a flag that community has created. I think this is an a-spec flag I’ve seen before? I’m not sure. It’s a great flag, and I love branching out from the “Lots Of Horizontal Bars” look.

But it’s often difficult to figure out if there’s a consensus on which flag people prefer. A lot of these flags are very new!! And that’s not a bad thing. I love that so many of us want to follow in Gilbert Baker’s footsteps and create flags for our community. But, uh … here are the image search results for “a-spec flag:”

2. Can I find a bird with the same colors of that flag?

Can I be brutally honest for a second? I think a lot of our flags have too many colors. And a lot of those colors are highly specific down to the hex code. I know I’m a boring person with bad opinions regarding this but I can’t help but be influenced by more traditional vexillology and heraldic convention: I think three colors is enough for most flags and five is too many, and I also think we have enough horizontal bars and we should start considering other geometric shapes.

Nature has made a lot of different birds but there are, unfortunately, a finite number of birds and an nearly-infinite number of possible flag color combinations. And we keep putting purple on all our flags when there just aren’t that many purple birds. What I’m trying to say is: maybe we should start choosing flag color palettes based on existing birds, because that would make this project easier for me. 😛

3. When can I find time to draw this bird?

I work three part time jobs and I have ADHD so my executive function is, maybe, not excellent. I, too, wish it did not take me months to draw new birds.

Please don’t let my rant and vexillogical snobbery deter you from requesting a pride bird. I’m just saying, I know it’s taken me a long time to make these, but it’s not cause I don’t enjoy making them. I’ve got a list of other birds I do want to get to (intersex, demiboy, demigirl) and I’m always adding to it.

Erosflux

Erosflux or erosfluid is a sexual modifier used to describe someone who fluctuates and/or is fluid between being asexual/ace-spec, allosexual, and hypersexual. This term is similar to aceflux, acespike, and ace-jump however it is more specific as it includes hypersexuality as well.

One with this identity may also be fluid or fluctuate in what genders they are attracted to, and thus also identify as abrosexual, however this is not always the case.

One who is erosflux does not have to fluctuate to being entirely ace; instead, they may just fluctuate to being ace-spec. This term can also be used as a modifier, such as erosvincian, eroslesbian, erosbisexual, etc if one wishes to also incorperate the genders they find attraction towards.

Some examples of why some may find this term useful include, but are not limited to…

• Those who have sexual trauma that effects the strength of their sexual attraction.
• Those within a median system who feel as though their combined sexual desires are best described in this manner.
• Those who have sexual disorders or disabilities that cause their sex drive to spike into higher or lower manners.
• An individual who felt as though aceflux, abro, and similar terms did not fit their experiences correctly as they did not explicitely include hypersexuality.

The term was first suggested by wiki user Hayden000 (specifically Shadow from their system) on May 26th of 2021. Following this suggestion, wiki user Cryptocrew (specifially Catra from their system) agreed that this would be a useful term for both them and her, and decided to officially coin it.

They clearly don’t see non binary people as their gender, but rather as an extension of women (even nonbinary men). For them someone who’s attracted to women and other genders, but not men aren’t ply because they don’t even think that even counts as being attracted to more than one gender

As someone who’s multigender an has several man-related genders in my gender list (or whatever you want to call it), i’ve been told I was included in lesbian attraction because “I wasn’t an actual man” and that non binary/genderqueer men “still count as nonmen”

Gendershift: A gender that has shifted or changed over time, whether that change be past present future, and whether it be a big or subtle change. People of this identities past gender identities were not incorrect, they were very much their actual gender at the time, but their gender has changed since then. Autipoly

Autipoly is an orientation on the multisexual spectrum which can only be understood in the context of being on the autism spectrum, when one’s autism greatly affects one’s polysexuality. Autipoly is not autism as a sexual orientation, but rather an m-spec identity that is so heavily influenced by autism that one’s autism and one’s polysexuality cannot be unlinked. Not all autistic polysexual people identify as autipoly, only those whose polysexuality is influenced by them being autistic. Autipoly is an exclusive identity only to be used by people on the autism spectrum.

Hey, I reblogged this yesterday and at the time  Ithought the work was really important to just let be on it’s own as a piece of art… But since then some of the notes I saw were bleak and I just want to say that I’m not an expert by any means, I’m just a person whose watched a youtube video or two but as a trans person you don’t have no options when you die. 

What you need is something called an advanced directive – a will is not going to cut it because that won’t some into play until after you’re buried. You need to make sure the right people look after you after death.

It’s not about essentially idpol (identity politics) or biopolitics, it’s about self-determination. Not always about gender socialization, could be sexuation/sex traits.

I absolutely not agreed with this. What you’re saying, @ohsopointlessskeletonhats, these are exclusionary words.

Some transgenders people have made transitions that they regrets because of transmedicalists that propagate the idea that making a transition and/or being dysphoric is an “important criterion” to be a “true transgender”. But this is false.

And in the event that some people have “mistaken” it does not prevent the fact that they surely had to make a coming-out and many other things. They have had experiences, and his experiences and who they are have the right to be part of the community. Finally, we must also not forget that, in truth, many people are not mistaken but upset because of pressure from their entourage and that kind of thing. Which pushes them back to their gender of birth. What is unfortunate for them.

But the fact remains that his people all have one thing in common : they have gained a certain experience which is an experience that the LGBT+ community defends and must defend. Its people have the right to be part of the community. Their flags are not to be burned.

I also don’t try to speak for the people involved as if I had lived his experiences but I support MtFtM people and FtMtF people. You are valid and your experience must be recognized ! ❤️

Happy Pride Month! I made some pride knights in Mordhau!

I really enjoy playing Mordhau, and I’ve slowly come to the realization that I might be bi, so I wanted to make some pride themed armor loadouts.

LGBTQ

Somewhat based off the elite knight set from dark souls. This one was the hardest to get right because of all the wonderful colors in the pride flag. They’re wielding a Claymore…. or a Gaymore, if you will.

Lesbian

She’s rockin some beautiful 15th century Italian plate armor. On top of that she’s got the Terf Slayer battle axe, based on the axe in the original lesbian pride flag.

Gay

He’s wearing 14th century brigandine armor. He’s got a longsword and two daggers.

Bisexual

The bisexual wears 16th century landsknecht half armor. What it lacks in protection it makes up for in cost and weight. In his hands is the mighty Zweihander…. the BI-hander… haha cuz bi means… two.

Pansexual

Or the PANSknecht if you will lol :3 But they also happen to wear landsknecht gear like the Bisexual knight, because bi and pi people are both fucking cool and have a lot in common. They carry a zweihander with them given that it is the signature weapon of the landsknecht.

Trans

The trans knight wears a joupon with a 14th century breastplate over it. In her hands is the Dusk moon halberd, a weapon that can serve many purposes.

Non-Binary

Could not decide if I wanted their armor to be black or white so I posted both pics. They wear 16th century greenwhich half armor with some colorful leggings and skirt below. They also have a Messer, for no other reason other than i think it looks cool.

Asexual

The ace knight is armed with a mACE. haha get it? He is also wearing a 14th century knightly coat of plates. I wish Mordhau had a Spade icon for your shield but alas they do not, (it would’ve been cool and funny cuz like, ace of spades).

Aromantic

Last but certainly not least is the Aromantic knight. He wears 16th/15th century Polish Hussar armor, known for its elaborate wings and articulated Cuirass. He also has a bow and AROw haha oh im so funny and original. But also as a back up weapon he wields a falchion.

I don’t identity as a “bi lesbian,” but I feel there is room for a woman to identify as both bisexual and gay/lesbian, and I don’t agree with the arguments I’ve seen against “bi lesbian” identity.

One thing that annoys me about detractors of the identity is the occasional claim that it is basically an internet phenomenon that arose within the last five years or so. Actually, women have been claiming both bisexual and lesbian identities for decades.
