[Image Description: a peach background with black text that reads, “mspec people are not oppressing one another by using different labels” and white text all around it that reads, “pan”, “abro”, “multi”, “pomo”, “bi”, “unlabeled”, “ply”, “flexible”, “mspec”, “queer”, “fluid”, and “omni”. End Description.]
because some people seem to think otherwise.
(i tried to find as many labels as i could, feel free to let me know of any i missed. some labels included aren’t inherently mspec, but are ones mspec people can use. and yes, i know “unlabeled” isn’t a label, but i wanted to include unlabeled mspec folks because they get hate, too.)
I would like to propose a masc nb flag and fem nb flag.
Some people such as myself identify as someone who is a mixture of a binary gender and also non binary. These labels are known as non binary woman and non binary man. I’ve made more flags for these identities.
I believe this makes sense for us… me as host… diagnosed with autism (when aged 16), have experienced all my life with intensive emotional sensitivity due to autism.
For example when someone says something mean (negatively) towards someone, it’ll hurt them. When saying the exact same thing to me, it hurts me ×10 or ×100 times more than to a ‘normal’ person.
It’d make sense to me that my Autism has played a part in how our system is formed. I do have childhood trauma but compared to others it’d be ‘mildly’, but since I experience everything many times more intense than ‘normal’ people, I do believe it would have been indeed traumatically intensive enough for a system to be formed.
But then again, we aren’t a diagnosed system and our therapist doesn’t believe in systems, so… we’re staying undiagnosed.
Definition: A gender identity describing someone who partially identifies as binary. They may or may not identify as another gender in addition to feeling partially binary.

since we couldn’t find any other posts or anything about this we made a flag a few days back, partly just for fun. First time doing that so jsdklf
I don’t think any of us in our system individually identify with this gender but it’s definitely something we as a whole experience to some extent, with gender becoming weaker for us when pain is stronger

schro/schrodisexual: someone who is asexual and allosexual at the same time, or some mix of the two, possible reference to schrodinger’s cat as being alive and dead at the same time.
Here’s a possible interpretation of this flag that could potentially provide an explanation for those curious/thinking it could possibly be them:
“I feel like I have a constant identity crisis for if I do, or don’t, have sexual attraction for others. I’ve read countless definitions of what sexual attraction can mean to people, but I honestly have zero idea still what it means and how it could apply to me. Maybe I’m ace, maybe I’m not, who the hell knows. I relate a lot to experiences I read in the asexual community. Could be because of trauma, could be because I’ve had a bad history with boyfriends/girlfriends”. THIS IS NOT a way to encourage maladaptive/traumatic/encourage negative behavior in regards to mental wellness or mental health. Please seek out a professional if this kind of anxiety and the like regularly negatively affects your sense of wellness, identity, this kind of thing.
This flag represents anyone who identifies as both a lesbian man and a turian woman. For example, a bigender (male/female) person who experiences queer attraction to men and queer attraction to women. For @snozzzz
just invented a new pride flag for people who have given up on their identities this one goes out to anyone who knows that theyre not cis or straight but is just plain fed up with thinking about it like seriously? figuring out your identity in this day and age? due to personal reasons i will be giving up

A flag for bisexuals and pansexuals who support each other, as well as other mspec orientations like omnisexual and polysexual! People often try to divide our community or pit us against each other, despite the fact that we both have extensive history, and a shared mspec community.
In times of discourse and fighting over who gets to belong, it is important to remember that we are stronger together, and that supporting your fellow bi and pan siblings within the community can help us move forward with inclusion and tolerance. Bisexuals and pansexuals are allies, friends, and family, not an enemy meant to drive us apart. We belong, and we’re all important members of the LGBTQ+ community.
The meaning of the flag is meant to represent both the bisexual and pansexual flag colors, with both the top and bottom half having colors from both. The red/pink represents pansexual history (@posi-pan has a great tag/page for a lot of pan history!), purple is for bisexual inclusion and fighting biphobia, yellow is for acceptance of all mspec identities as well as solidarity, blue is for bisexual history, and teal/green is for pansexual inclusion and fighting panphobia.
The link chain symbol represents our shared place in the mspec community, while the shield represents our ability to protect, support, and help each other. Because of the shield symbolism, this flag can also be called shield solidarity, with supporters being called shield solidaires.
That is a very good question! The yellow stripe was not necessarily changed. By that we mean that both flags were designed at around the same by the same creator (Cameron). They were just two different versions but with the same meanings. You can find some information about the flags here: https://aromantic.wikia.org/wiki/Aromantic
IIRC the creator of the flags changed the yellow to white to address concerns that the yellow caused sensory issues for a lot of people. Hence why the one with the white stripe is the most widely used one today.
Edit: OK, found the source post I was looking for. According to this, Cameron updated the flag design for reasons of colour sensitivity and cultural appropriation.
made some flags for angelgender + lovegender cause I couldn’t find any I liked personally. The meanings are just how I feel, so feel free to interpret them in a way that suits you if you’d like ! no specific pronouns assigned to either do what u want <3</p>
Shinjuku Boys (1995). Tatsu, a transgender man, jokes with his barber about his changing appearance, and his newly masculine features.
TRANSCRIPT:
BARBER: So you go regularly to the hospital for your hormone injection? TATSU: [nods] BARBER: Does it hurt? TATSU: Not at all. BARBER: You have more facial hair. It must be the hormones. You’ll get a moustache soon. TATSU: I’ll look distinguished! They’ve made quite the difference. I never thought I’d change so much. Most customers say I’m like a man. BARBER: Really? TATSU: [laughing] They say, “You look like a man. You’re not cute.” BARBER: [laughs]
END TRANSCRIPT.
I love seeing this, because I’ve looked for many things about trans guys in Japan (in trying to understand how Japan views transgender people on the whole) and other than a few recent things, everything was exclusively about trans women.
It’s absolutely massive, utterly beautiful, and deserves more attention.
This reminded of a video I watched on Rachel and Jun’s channel. They’re a couple of an American woman and a Japanese man who make content about what they’ve learned from the joining of their lives and cultures. (A quick aside, Jun makes incredibly cinematic cooking videos that are super worthwhile to watch as well, they’re incredibly creative and calming.) Rachel herself isn’t LGBT but made a video where she reads anonymous messages from lgbtq people in Japan, it’s an interesting watch if anyone is interested.
Disclaimer, the video is about seven years old, and much has changed since then. I still think it’s a worthwhile watch, though.
I was researching types of tertiary attraction again and couldn’t find a lot of flags so I made some based on the stuff here and on related flags.
Potential/Bonding attraction- Attraction based on being able forming a hierarchical bond with someone else, where one partner is more dominant/supportive in a non-sexual and non-romantic way. This includes types such as Tutelary (Protective), Cedural (Dependent), and Wechselnd attraction. The flag is based off the Tutelary and Cedural flags. (Flag ID: A flag with 6 horizontal stripes. The outside stripes are thicker than the inside stripes and the middle stripe is very thin. The stripes are purple, blue, black, yellow and green.)
Spiritual attraction- Attraction based on liking someone else’s spirituality and wanting to do spiritual things together. This form of attraction is similar to Social attraction since you want the guidance of another person. Spiritual attraction may also involve feelings of having been in a relationships with someone in a past life. The flag is based off the colors associated with Spiritual attraction. (Flag ID: A flag with 7 horizontal stripes. The stripes are purple, orange, light yellow, and white, and then the same light yellow, orange, and purple.)
Virtudinal/Intangible attraction- Attraction based on wanting to interact with someone else on a non-physical plane (for example, through thoughts). The flag is based on my simplified version of the Presential attraction flag, which I then inverted the colors of to show that Virtudinal/Intangible and Presential attractions are opposites. (Flag ID: A flag with 5 horizontal stripes. The stripes are gray, blue, white, green-blue, and teal.)
It’s still being debated, but the more dominant consensus is shiny. The Persian is sometimes animated with pink inner ears, and is sometimes a much paler yellow
Oiamuinic, a combination of oiauinic and giarinic, is an umbrella term for any sexuality that includes any attraction to any outherine-aligned genders or atrinary, genderless-aligned genders or agiaspec, a combination of them, atrinary or outherine related genders, agiaspec or agenrine related genders, or a combination of them, outherine-aligned genders or atrinary genders, angerine-aligned genders or agingenders, or a combination of them, or outherinity or ‘outherine presentation’, agenrinity or agenrine presentation, or a combination of the both.
The colours on the flag represent:
Brown: All sexualities that involve attraction to atrinary genders, agiaspec genders, or a combination of them both
Dark Brown: All sexualities that involve attraction to atrinary or outherine related genders, agiaspec or agenrine related genders, or a combination of them both
Black: All sexualities that involve attraction to outherine aligned genders, angerine/genderless aligned genders, or a combination of them both
Dark Ash Orange: All sexualities that involve attraction to ‘outherine presentation’, angerine presentation, or a combination of them both
Light Yellow: All sexualities that involve attraction to outherinity or atrininity as a whole, angerine or agiaspec as a whole, or a combination of them both as a whole.
The flag is also a combination of the oiauinic flag and the giarinic flag.
because people seem to like it, here are gifs of the symbol with no background to use as you see fit:
my intention was to create a symbol for those who fall outside the lines of cis and trans* male and female; for the genderqueer and genderfluid; third gender and agender; etc.
it obviously relies on the mars and venus male and female gender symbols, and is a combination of them in the x: the + of the venus symbol rotated and the > of the male symbol, but the x also denounces them. x has become a symbol of the non-binary, in pronouns and titles; it seemed fitting here. its position on the circle deviates from the positions of the male, female, and trans* symbols, because it is not them, but is not meant to be above them.
this symbol is for anyone who identifies beyond male and female. use it well.

Feeding and clothing the homeless in the land of the free has now become a revolutionary act. Luckily, however, there are still good people willing to carry that act out.
In December 2014, the Dallas city council enacted Ordinance No. 29595, which makes it illegal to serve food to the homeless without jumping through a statist myriad of bureaucratic hoops, including a fee, training classes, and written notices.
One should not need to file multiple forms and pay a fee to obtain a permit to give food to those in need who are willingly ready to accept it. The folks at Don’t Comply know this.
Over the weekend, the aptly named organization, Don’t Comply, and dozens of volunteers from children to adults alike took to the streets of Dallas to hand out food, sleeping bags, clothing, and tents to the area’s less fortunate.
As TFTP has reported on numerous occasions, often times, police will swoop in and shut down those who would dare defy the authority of the state and conduct charity without a permit. However, most organizations aren’t like Don’t Comply.
As they took to the streets this weekend, many of the members of the organization open carried their weapons. This was done—not out of an act of intimidation—but merely to assert rights as well as protect them.
The resultant heavily armed group of do-gooders effectively staved off any attempts by police to shut down the charitable efforts.
Fuck the state, direct action
Never thought “in order to feed the homeless” was a reason to own an AR but we live in a society I guess
Because I am afraid of cis women and I think it’s very sexy and very poggers of @saint-dionysus to so openly call forth the wrath of entitled cis women who think they’ve a say in transmasculine issues.
Not only will I defend hymn; if I ever see this motherfucker irl I’m buying hymn a pint
Damn, called out for being being a cismisogynist and they couldn’t even do it to my face, sorry about the anons, hermano.
Also, it should be noted that I don’t hate cis women. I am weary and distrusting of cis women, because they are cis and they like to use their womanhood as a weapon, especially white women. I talk about cis women because they’re the ones most often sticking their heads up their asses by presuming themselves the authority on “AFAB issues” and what counts as “acceptable male behavior,”. Simply put, cis women in queer spaces have a real fond tendency for treating trans men like shit and then using our gender as an excuse for their abuse.
I and nearly every other trans man I know have been a victim of abuse or worse at the hands of a cis woman and we have all been told in slightly different words to “man up and get over it,” whenever we mention the way that we are treated. They’re of course angry that I have instead decided to “man up” and talk about it, putting me in a vulnerable position where I am sent death threats and worse on a daily basis.
Cis women in queer spaces like to use the fact that they are cis women to attack trans people – primarily trans women, amab genderqueer folk, and masculine or butch trans man. Nearly all queer spaces I’ve been in are run by a cis woman and they consider themselves the authority on what is acceptable regarding gender. What that means is they demand trans men be femminine and “non-threating”, that nonbinary people be afab, and that trans women be “passing” and silent. So for me? Every cis woman in queer space is a radfem until she proves otherwise. Every cis woman outside of a queer space is a queerphobe until proven otherwise.
However, unlike “feminist” cis women who spend all their time shit talking men, I don’t spend all my time blogging about how I hate them. In fact, cis women don’t come up on my blog very often and I only interact with them when they interact with me, it’s not my fault that every time they do it’s to attack me.
I don’t hate cis women, I’m fucking terrified of them.
(also, I’ll take you up on that pint once the plague is over @heebydeeby )
Couldn’t have said any of this better myself. Thank you so much, Saint!
As an Afab nonbinary person I’d also like to point out cis women only like us if we shut up about how they treat us as women lite. I’m not supposed to talk about wanting to transition or how I feel connected to manhood. I’m not supposed to talk about how the way they talk about AFAB issues is harmful to me. They want to use us to show that they are trans accepting but in reality don’t care about us as anything other than tokens and puppets that they use to excuse their horrendous treatment of other trans people.
It’s not just they demand nonbinary people be AFAB. They demand we be AFAB and silent unless we agree with them.
I’m terrified of cis women because the moment I don’t play along with their treatment of us I get attacked and told that I’m a problem and I don’t understand my own experiences or that I’m “basically a man” and should shut up because it’s not my place.
Someone who’s greyspec (demi, lith, fray, void, quoi, etc) on every level of attraction.
This is independently of if they consider themselves aspec, allospec or completely in the middle (or if this varies between the different types of attraction)

Queerf*ck / Queerfuck is the orientation version of Genderf*ck / Genderfuck. I’ve found that there really isn’t a term (from what I could find) that was the orientation version of Genderfuck so I decided to coin it myself.
Queerfuck is for when your orientation identity is against social norms, heteronormativity, amatonormativity, etc. including the notion that orientations are boxes that you must perfectly fit into in order to be “valid” or “real”.
Orientations that are often excluded against, demonized, or erased, along with orientations that are so complex one needs to use many terms to describe oneself (orientationhoarder) are included under this label. Polyamory and Non-Monoamory relationships and labels would also fit under this label, along with MOGAI orientations, and Neo-Orientations.
Queerfuck is radically inclusive to all queer identities.
Aponian refers to someone who is genderless attracted to other genderless. This term can be used by anyone on the genderless spectrum, even by: demiagender, Agender woman/man, Bigender, ect… This term can be exclusive or not.
This can be an umbrella term for any sexuality that refers to Genderless loving Genderless, such as: Delphinian, Dahlian
Apon come from the greek language and means « Absent » due to the genderless part
Fluxorelational: fluxing intensity in interpersonal relatings
Marital terms can be either immaterial or jurisdictional (institutional), regardlessly. Relationating can be about relationships or relations in general, intercorporeal consumption or immanent consummation.
[ID: A 5 striped flag. The colors are in the following descending order: forest green, green, black, light green, and yellow green. The black stripe is double the size of the others. Over the stripes in the center, there is a white infinity symbol. End ID]
Autigenderless
——————–
Autigenderless is feeling a complete disconnect from gender because of autism, or being both autigender and agender.
Autigenderless people may fluctuate between being genderless and having gender, may feel fluidity between the two, or may feel partially genderless. Autigenderless people also may or may not connect with the term agender.
Only autistic people (self dx included) may identify with this term.
——————–
Forest green represents neurodivergency and being autigender.
Green represents acceptance of and diversity in gender presentation, identity, and pronouns.
Black represents apathy towards gender, a disconnect from gender, and rejection of gender. It is double the size of the other stripes to represent the absence of gender.
Light green represents having partial gender with binary and/or nonbinary genders, and gender fluidity/fluctuation.
Yellow-green represents feeling joy in one’s identity, body, and neurodivergency.
The infinity symbol represents the autistic community and its white color represents the diversity within the community.
——————–
Feel free to tweak the definition to fit your needs or to make your own flags! I tried to keep it pretty broad 💛
[image id: a long rectangular flag with eight horizontal stripes. the colors from top to bottom are: black, rose bud cherry, blush, burning orange, earls green, elm, chathams blue, and black]
i got a little excited about the prospect of quantum (quantum queer, quantumgender, quantumromantic, quantumsexual, etc) as an identity label for gender and/or attraction—because i used to id as ‘undeclared’ and, while i also love ‘just plain queer’ i also enjoy describing my gender and attraction as being quantum in nature because i find it to be the most accurate way to label it all; fluctuating and changing when observed—so i decided to make this flag for myself and also share it with all of you! the lowercase delta symbol stands for uncertainty and change 🤍
You know what we need imo? Some word for an identity that includes both asexual and aromantic people. Pretty much every other orientation (that I know of) can just shorten it (bi, pan, ply, demi, etc.) or in the case of gay and lesbian people, use gay or lesbian, but for us that just leaves us with “a” which is pretty confusing.
I think it would be really helpful to promote more unity between ace and aro people, because right now I see so much talk about how they’re totally different – hell, even our flags are different! And yeah, they’re not the same thing, but bisexual and biromantic aren’t the same either but we still have a shared community, and I wish that were the case with the other aspect of my orientation.
Also the way it is now, it’s pretty much impossible for people to avoid using the split attraction model without people making assumptions or just using a-spec (not that there’s anything wrong with just calling yourself a-spec ofc!! but some people probably want to say their specific id and it’s hard for them at the moment) and that in turn makes people think that ace and/or aro people inherently have to use the split attraction model and by extension that the split attraction model is bad for anyone who isn’t ace and/or aro or that ace and aro are just modifiers (while obviously that’s mostly the fault of the people actually spreading that idea, some people might think it’s true because they don’t know otherwise and this could help prevent that). Obviously having a common word for the two won’t end SAM discourse or “ace and aro are modifiers” I still think it could at least help for the other reasons I mentioned.
(also sorry for all the acronyms and really long sentences/paragraphs. i tried to tone it down but it didn’t work that well. Let me know if you need clarification and I’ll try to make it clearer)
I mean I like the idea of a combined ace and/or aro community, but I think currently with all the added confusion (that I see constantly posted) of people not knowing which is which, it would be good to be able to define both as completely separate while still joining the community.
Like I still have people who ask me if I’m ace and when I tell them I’m aro they just get more confused and ask if it’s similar to being ace.
I’d love to have a term, I’m just a little weary on how it would be for us when we refer to our identities.
Apologies if I’ve misunderstood the concept/what you were trying to explain. If I did please further explain your thoughts, I’d love to hear them!
I agree. There’s nothing wrong with unity between ace and aro communities, I think unity is a good idea, but I don’t know if having a new word will help, exactly. I don’t see what’s wrong with continuing to use “aroace”? The split attraction model exists because it helps people more accurately depict their experiences with their own orientation. Grouping aro and ace together, in my opinion, will increase confusion and group all aro and/or ace people together as having the same experiences, when they are separate identities and not all ace people will be aro and vice versa. While “lack of X attraction” is a shared definition, people who are only aro or only ace aren’t going to be able to relate to both. I don’t know if this will allow more inclusion of a-spec identities, because of the possibility of excluding only ace or only aro people, and only including people who are aroace.
Personally, I find a-spec is a word that encompasses everyone in the aro-spec and ace-spec communities without having to specific if it is romantic or sexual.
Other options are just using the prefixes for the various a-spec labels. Litho, Gray, Quoi , Fray, etc. There also exists shortened forms for some a-spec orientations. Grace, grayro, aroace. They can also be combined with other orientations for people who do want to combine them.
I think though that it’s possible a word has not come to fill that specific niche that Bi, Pan, Gay, Etc have because the community itself has had trouble keeping aro and ace as separate things. I see a lot of people who aren’t a part of the community conflate aro and ace, so by keeping them as two separate words, it allows people to retain both aro and ace identities, while also accounting for people who are only aro Or ace.
Yes, a-spec orientations are orientation in their own right, but there is a great deal of SAM use and mismatched orientations in the community, and we view aromanticism and asexuality as two separate things, which the gay, bi, pan, etc communities haven’t always done. We also acknowledge that asexuality and aromanticism are both spectrums, and yet I’ve seen people question if they are part of the community because they have experienced attraction under certain circumstance. A-spec as a word to describe the aro and ace spec communities is pretty much the closest you’re going to get without erasing people’s identities.
Of course if someone can figure out a word for it that everyone is happy with, let us know.
Okay after discussing it with a few people I think I’ve got it.
Aidemattraction: An orientation where you feel that your aromanticism and asexuality are the same thing and can not be distinguished from one another.
The A comes from A being the prefix used in asexual and aromantic, idem is the Latin prefix for same, and I used the phrase attraction at the end because it encompass both a sexual and romantic orientation. The flag above the
Aidemattraction flag.
I really like the orientation I feel like it fits me very well but I find the flag very straining on my eyes, so I took it into photos and adjusted the colours a bit and would like to suggest this version as an alternative.
They are the equivalent to strippers here. They never engaged in sex acts but if you look throughout their history they were not treated well. Most being sold into that profession.
If by “here” you mean Japan, i’d just like to say that it is well known that not even the average Japanese citizen is aware of the true nature of the Geisha, Geiko and Maiko. they are not strippers and to say things like this is demeaning to the women who work hard and are trained in the arts (dance, music, tea ceremony, etc.).
Geisha became what they are known as today in the mid-1700s. the first actual geisha were men and they entertained shogun and samurai (and other wealthy men) with dance, music and the art of tea ceremony and theater. when courtesans were losing money to these male geisha, a few of them broke away from being in the sex business and became female geisha. therefore, geisha as an occupation never was a thing of the sex trade/prostitution and absolutely NOT stripping.
let me dispel some common misconceptions:
so, geisha were never prostitutes, never perform sex acts or even accept relationships/marriage proposals until after they retire from being a geisha (usually in their 30s, tho some women stay geisha until death by choice).
while geisha in the past (we are talking almost 100 years ago by now) have been given to Okiya (geisha houses) by their families, it was usually due to the families inability to afford their child and rather than let the child be homeless and starve, they gave them to an Okiya where they would live a much better life (Okiya housed other geisha within that Okiya’s special “familiy”; the Okasan–”Mother”–of the house protected them, gave them a comfortable living, fed them, sent them to all their classes, spent money on their personal kimono and make-up, and who arrange their finances and plan their parties and events). Nowadays, and pretty much since the 1940s, Geisha become Geisha by choice and enter into the profession after they graduate middle school (it is even required in most cases that they complete at least that level of schooling before becoming a Geisha) willingly.
GEISHA wear their Obi belts tied tightly in the back to hold together their Kimono; these belts are so long and heavy that the Okiya hires a male dresser to assist in tying these Obi every night before a party or event. a geisha could not strip or easily take off her many layers of Kimono/undergarments and so the assumption that they are strippers just doesn’t make any sense. a traditional courtesan or TAYUU/OIRAN wore her Obi belt loosely tied in the front so that she could easily untie it for a customer.
There is no empirical evidence of there being any such thing as “mizuage” (as referred to by Arthur Golden in ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’) in the geisha world. there is however evidence of the ritual of mizuage in the Tayuu (or Oiran depending on the region, i think) courtesan tradition. a courtesan who was being initiated would have a ceremony where wealthy men bid for her virginity, with the highest bid being the winner. These Tayuu (or Oiran) are absolutely NOT in any form in relation to a Geisha. i will also mention that prostitution in Japan has been illegal since 1959, officially.
“Comfort Women” from the WWII era were prostitutes that told American GIs that they were “geisha” in order to make more money and to play on the exoticism that was so popular in the US at the time. this is where a big portion of the “Geisha are prostitutes” misconception came from.
“Hot Springs Geisha” and Bar Hostesses in Tokyo are trained in a similar way to traditional Geisha in that they have skills in the art of conversation and even some musical skill, however these women are NOT Geisha. “Hot Springs Geisha” are also known to engage in sex acts with hot springs patrons (though it is frowned upon) and so bring another incorrect image of sex-acts to the name of Geisha.
While there have I’m sure been cases of abuse from an Okasan to her Geisha throughout the history of the profession, this is usually not the case, and to say that “many or all Okasan are abusive and manipulative to their Geisha” is ignorant and offensive.
DO NOT READ “MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA”!! If you already have, I would strongly suggest you read other books on the subject of Geisha. Arthur Golden (a white man) wrote this book to make money off of the many misconceptions about Geisha, Geiko and Maiko. Everything he says about the Geisha tradition is incorrect, from the part where he explains why “some Geisha” wear lipstick only on the bottom lip (this actually signifies that a Maiko has only been in training for under a year) to his horrible, offensive and incorrect description of a Geisha going through mizuage. He interviewed a very well-known geisha named Mineko Iwasaki for his book, which he then exploited and changed around for his benefit. She even tried to sue him for libel for taking stories from her personal life, twisting it and turning it into a book that lies about the fundamentals of being a Geisha. I would recommend reading, “Geisha, A Life” by Mineko Iwasaki. she has written about what it really means to be a Geisha.
Here are is a picture of a Geiko (a fully-fledged Geisha who has completed most of her training and has become a professional):
Here is a picture of a Maiko (a Geisha-in-training who is still an apprentice and usually works alongside her “Older Sister” or her assigned Geiko partner; her Older Sister is in charge of most of a Maiko’s social training):
Here is the difference in dress between a Geiko and a Maiko:
Here is a Tayuu courtesan (high end prostitute); this profession no longer exists, any modern photographs of one is of an actress for historical theater purposes. Notice the Obi belt tied in front and the overall difference in dress. This was what courtesans looked like:
This is a photo of “Hot Springs Geisha” in the 60s. Notice the women serving drinks and entertaining men at the tables:
Here is a picture of an Ozashiki (party, event or gathering where Geisha are hired to entertain with music, dance, conversation and drink serving) today. It is much, much, much different (and more expensive) than an average hostess bar, and takes place within an Ochaya (traditional teahouse). As you can see, men are not the only ones who have booked an Ozashiki with Geisha:
Please do not spread misconceptions about these hard-working women artists. They deserve respect and have persevered for centuries with women at the forefront of these professions. Not only are these women trained to entertain party patrons, but they are also highly skilled in theater and the performing arts. Surrounding the Geisha are women wigmakers, female Shamisen, drum, flute ensembles, hairdressers, kimono artisans, well-respected dance/music/tea ceremony teachers, jewelry and hair accessory makers, Okobo and Zori footwear artisans, teahouse staff and Ozashiki planners, instrument craftsmen, and many, many more. If you would like to know more about Geisha, there are many books written by former Geisha out there.
Here is a short video of a Geisha performance, it is the annual Miyako Odori (”Cherry Blossom” Dance):
Thanks.

I actually just finished ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’, thank you so much for writing this post and sharing correct knowledge.

Most of this is factual, EXCEPT in terms of comfort women. Comfort Women were mostly Korean and some Chinese women who were abducted by Japanese soldiers and used as sex slaves. This was because Japan had colonized Korea since 1910 and had the entire country under their thumb. The Japanese government has issued a paltry sum to the surviving comfort women, but never an official apology. It’s still a huge source of tension between Japan and South Korea, even today.
DO NOT PERPETUATE THE IDEA THAT COMFORT WOMEN WERE PROSTITUTES. They were victims of atrocious war crimes that the Japanese government still refuses to acknowledge.
Here is a 2016 article talking about the legacy of the survivors:
Here is a 2019 article about the death of Kim Bok-dong, another South Korean survivor who became a humanitarian uplifting other women and children in need and the first recipient of the “righteous figure award”:
And here is the official website of the Comfort Women Justice Coalition, which includes more history, video testimonies, and donation links to survivors:
Sex work is real work, but “comfort women” were the victims of repeated rape and abuse, not to mention kidnapping. As of 2021, less than twenty are still alive. What they went through should never be denigrated, and we should be lifting up the women who are still with us and listening to their stories.
It’s also worth noting that onsen geisha, or “hot springs geisha” are still very much geisha–they recieve all the same training, even if it differs based on location. Some onsen geisha were sex workers, yes, but theirs is still a valid form of the profession. Sayo Masuda’s Autobiography of a Geisha goes more into detail about the author’s personal experience in the 1940s.
“They took our land, they imprisoned our queen, they banned our language, they forcibly made us a colony of the United States. America says they are democratic, that is a lie! They have never been democratic with Native people! They have never been democratic with Indians! They have never been democratic with Hawaiians!”

the other day I saw a tweet where someone asked why pride flags only had colors instead of featuring flames, explosions, and dinosaurs and my brain thought, you know. that seems exactly like the kind of flag they might have on the boiling isles
also please appreciate my flag it’s so small in the comic I spent longer making it than I did drawing the panels
MYTH: Americans set off fireworks on the 4th of July, in honor of our Independence Day
FACT: Americans set off fireworks from approximately June 20th—July 20th, for no reason other than this is the time of year that you can literally buy them at any grocery store
A tweet thread made by user @ agavedelacalle on June 6, 2020 that says,
“When you expose a racist student, you stop them from attending a university that will allow them to become a racist healthcare worker, teacher, lawyer, real estate developer, politicians, etc
Racism in the medical field results in minorities dying at a higher rate. Racism in real estate prevents minorities from buying homes in different areas. Racism in politics results in laws that negatively impact minorities. The list goes on.”
This reminds me of a party I went to last year. I was standing with some friends, chatting, and someone said something that indirectly implied that sexism exists. Some trivial recounting of the basic facts of daily life for most women. Something so mild, so uncontroversial, so mundane that I don’t even remember what it was.
Suddenly, this man standing on the outskirts of our conversational circle piped up with “actually, I think men are more discriminated against than women these days.”
All conversation died.
I turned to look at him and he had this smug, insufferable grin on his face, relishing this moment, expecting us to waste our time and energy refuting this ridiculous thing he had just said.
The Devil’s Advocate was among us.
And, in my mind, I saw the next 15+ minutes playing out. The parade of facts and statistics in a vain attempt to defend ourselves, our gender, and to prove that misogyny is real. The glib, snide denials from some shithead who is getting off on our pain and frustration. The Gish Gallop of bullshit that would take a whole evening to properly dismantle. It was depressing and overwhelming. I hated it. I had to kill it before it began.
So I looked him dead in the eye and I said “OK,“ shrugged, and just walked away.
Nothing I have ever said to another human being has ever been so crushing. As I walked away, I watched the smug grin vanish and confusion and anxiety set in. The rest of the group turned their backs to him and carried on as if he had never spoken – as if he was invisible. He was still staring at me when I walked over to another friend and told her what he had said. I pointed him out for her and made direct eye contact with him while we both laughed.
tl;dr: Don’t feed the troll. Let it perish, cold and hungry, in the wasteland of your indifference. It is weak and you are strong. Live your best life.
Note: the flags came out sorta looking like fem/masc/neut versions of each other, and I may change that later, but for now these are the flags and they are all genderless.
Edificoid: When human identities do not apply to you because you are a building. The shades of red refer to bricks, and the window is grey because it’s opaque and blocking the view of observers.
Edifivoid: When you have no identity because you are a building. The shades of blue refer to nighttime or space, and the window is black because there is nothing inside.
Edifiloid: When you are a building and your identity mimics/is affected by the people within. “Loid” is short for “celluloid”, as a reference to how films capture the image of people. The shades of brown refer to both wood and human skin tones, and the window is yellow because someone turned on a light.
These identities are related to trauma and are only for traumatized people who feel like they haunt/contain/embody/etc a specific building. This is not a kin thing.
The rainbow wave is generally supposed to represent colors and a general connection to colors. The colors are pastel to reduce eyestrain and to represent Associative color-related Synesthesia, since we don’t actually see the colors.
The wave shape specifically is also supposed to represent perceiving colors due to Synesthesia. The sort of ‘scribbly’ brush/pattern used for the rainbow is supposed to represent creativity, since a lot of people with Synesthesia are fairly creative, and since colors are generally related to art.
For the Huete flag, the ‘x’ represents whatever causes one to perceive the colors related to said thing, since x is generally used as a representation for anything unspecified.
For the Whuete flag, the person represents a person… (just fleshing out the color explanation, I know this sounds dumb, lol).
For the Huwete flag, the person and little lines are supposed to represent personalities and personality traits.
I tried experimenting with new shapes and ended up with this argyle/hipster diamond pattern. Anyway this sunset-themed nonbinary phone background is free to use. 🌌
Duoromantic is a subset of abroromantic, and possibly aroflux in which one has two or more well-defined romantic orientations that one switches between.
This is the (current) finished product; I might add more later on, but this is all I wanted to put for right now (please ignore the “V” in the “Love”; mistakes were made XD):

hiya! I figured id make an informational post about the little things ive noticed about being on testosterone that I found weren’t talked about a lot when I was starting my transition and even before when I was doing my research. I think that trans sexual health is an extremely important part of trans peoples lives (and that doesnt necessarily mean sex) seeing as the physical changes that happen during transition are often foreign to us. Sexual health keeps us healthy and comfortable in our bodies, so do your best to stay attentive to your body’s changes! As always, consult your doctor if you feel the need to. These are only tips ive learned from transitioning myself and from my doctor when I asked about certain things.
Fucking tumblr our here really trying to teach the world things
Hey this isn’t necessarily something for HRT. But rather for top surgery for those considering it, most every surgeon and endocrinologist I’ve met (save for the ones I’m working with currently) doesn’t mention this and trans dudes who have gone through top surgery sometimes don’t even know about it, but your ti🅱️🅱️ies? They make hormones. Lots of them. When you get top surgery you’re removing a primary maker of hormones from your body and it’ll throw you through a loop, and for anywhere from a few days to a couple months after the surgery your hormones are gonna be WACK. This will usually cause a post-surgery depression that a lot of trans men sometimes confuse with regret for taking this step in their transition and it’ll throw them into an identity crisis, so for those planning on taking that step, just remember that weird ass sadness you’re gonna feel is just your hormones being like “hey wHAT the FUCK” and you made the right decision for you!!
Can confirm that bottom growth is a real and painful thing. If you’re the kind of person who wears skinny jeans regularly (looking at u fashionable goth/punk trans ppl), here’s a tip for your first few months of T: don’t.
Bottom growth will be overly sensitive and stick out of the hood more than usual, and anytime the inside of ur jeans rubs against it it will a) hurt and b) make u horny.
This can be a problem in general, but especially if u have bottom dysphoria and being reminded of ur junk can make u dysphoric, and/or if ur ace like me and being horny can be a very confusing and annoying experience (I know this is not every aces experience but I had never really had a sex drive or arousal before T and it was very distressing at first. Still ace tho)
Oh also: microdosing can be great for slowing changes and letting ur body adapt more gradually (It can be very helpful for more gradual and natural sounding voice changes), however, it will not let you avoid certain changes entirely. Microdosing will not prevent bottom growth from happening, or any other changes you may want to avoid. Unfortunately what changes you get are genetic and there is no way to pick and chose which you get. A lower dose of T can make it go more slowly to help you get used to it more gradually or so that if there are changes you really want to avoid you can try and stop before those advance too far, but it can’t prevent changes from happening entirely, certainly not specific ones. And certainly not bottom growth, which is one of the first changes to start and one of the least reversible.
(I don’t say this because I think that was what op was trying to say abt microdosing at all btw, I’m just trying to clarify because I remember when I started T and was researching low dose T, I saw some people on online forums hoping it would allow them to avoid bottom growth for example, and it won’t, so I wanted to clear that up)
Also re: top surgery, the first time I saw my chest post-op my brain flipped and I got so dizzy I nearly passed out. This is also relatively normal and okay. I think my brain just kind of freaked out seeing my body so different from what we were used to and also oh yeah with a big scar running across it. Its okay, that doesn’t mean you regret it either. I think sometimes ur brain just needs a minute to catch up and realize ‘oh wait this isn’t a traumatic injury this is what my chest is supposed to look like’. Once I had seen my chest a few times and let my brain get used to it I was absolutely thrilled and loved it (and still do). I also had a panic attack the night before my surgery because I was afraid of the anesthesia. Again, doesnt mean I made the wrong decision.
I think a lot of trans ppl don’t know that surgery can just be an emotionally intense experience, and yeah can also mess with ur hormones a bit (another consequence of both hormonal stuff and the stress of surgery is I got really bad acne for awhile after surgery) and so you might feel all kinds of weird or stressed directly before or after. It’s okay. Make sure u have supportive ppl around u to take care of u, and wait until ur body has had a bit of time to heal and renormalize before u start panicing over if u made the right choice or not. You’ll probably be sleeping for most of the first week anyway. Give ur body and ur nerves a break for a bit.
I learned so very much from this. I’ve seen posts talking about MtF transition and the hormone weirdness that causes, but this is the first FtM one I’ve seen.
An organization representing Indigenous women wants the attorney general of Canada, David Lametti, to take action in response the location of 751 unmarked graves near a former residential school in Saskatchewan.
In a letter, the Native Women’s Association of Canada has demanded that a declaration that the sites of all Indian residential schools are “crime scenes”. This would be followed by investigations to determine how each Indigenous child died and who was responsible.
“In addition, we are demanding that charges be laid against people still living who are found to be the perpetrators of these crimes, including the members of the religious orders that ran the schools, as well as the governments and the churches that we know to be complicit,” the NWAC states on its website.
carceral r*dfems claiming abolition is a movement ‘for and by men’ would be hilarious if it wasn’t such a clear example of misogynoir. black women sit at the forefront of abolitionist theorising and organising (kaba, gilmore, davis); their contributions to the movement are not just substantial, but integral. as is the case for survivors. how unsurprising that ‘r*dical’ feminists do not merely fall into carcerality, but embrace it through constant acts of epistemic violence.
this is such a great point, even off the top of my head, the prominent recent prison abolitionist works that come to mind are by black women (Michelle Alexander with The New Jim Crow and many other books + Ava DuVernay with 13th and When They See Us). Angela Davis who you mentioned has a writing credit on basically every major book on the subject!!
it’s the same with mariame kaba—i’d be genuinely surprised if someone had actually researched police abolition in any kind of depth and had never heard of her work, as she’s constantly credited with shifting the conversation around policing in america. but i suppose it’s naïve to expect these people to do any research outside of their cult-like social media echo chambers.
the op made a good point on that post by noting the radfem tendency to reduce everything to (a narrow & crude understanding of) patriarchy, and i suppose this extends to their understanding of other people’s politics too. they deny the existence of nuanced abolitionist politics in the same way that they deny the existence of trans-inclusive feminists and lgb people, and sex workers and their allies, with revolutionary politics. for radfems to accept these things would be to accept that they simply do not have the range!
Transgendern’t (transgendernot) or transn’t (non-transgender): someone who is not trans* while not essentially cis*; a grouping or unifying term for people who are absgender, isogender, ipsogender, demicisgender or cisgender.

Sometimes used with decolonial derivations, such as maryka, maryca, or marika, othertimes reused with queer, such as mariqueer (Westerner/Anglo-Saxon/French), marikuir (Latinx), marikweer (Chinese/East Asian), and maricuir (Brazilian/Portuguese), and maverique or in neoneuter or neonull, such as marique or marike and maricx or maric.

Nocismasexual is the attraction to all genders, except, either: A) One’s attraction to men fades once it is known someone is a cisgender man. B) One does not feel attraction to men until it is known that the man in question is not cisgender, or C) One chooses not to date cisgender men/chooses not to date men unless they know the man in question is not cis.
The term is used by non-cis people who are not attracted to cis men or are unwilling to date cis men. The unwillingness to date cis men is not because there’s any inherent difference between cis and trans men, rather it stems from issues of safety, trauma, oppression, or other personal reasons. One may not want to be vulnerable to misconceptions, misgendering, or oppression from their partner. One may also prefer a trans partner because one would relate to them more.
I do not know you bro. You are an anonymous stranger asking completely unsolicited sexual questions to another stranger on the internet bro. I’m not the one who oughtta be feeling ANY kinda shame in this two-person equation, so please re-evaluate your math, bro.
Identifying with your AGAB, which is AMAB, while viewing yourself as transitioning towards a masculine and neutral identity, having a primarily masculine and neutral identity, or presenting muscularly / neutraly.
Not identifying with your AGAB, and viewing your gender as being masculine and neutral, while being trans.

Damn that’s crazy. It’s a good thing America doesnt do anything like th—
Like they literally just described an extremely well known pastime that hundreds of thousands of Americans take part in every year— except it’s evil propaganda because the Chinese are doing it. Arlington National Cemetery is where our president goes every Memorial Day to wax poetic about how every American soldier ever died for perfectly just and heroic reasons. Civil War re-enactments are huge deals in the south especially. All across New England there are whole historic towns full of museums to remind us how the founding of our country was the greatest thing ever done. There are gold rush towns in California that celebrate the great westward expansion with little to no mention of the native tribes that were massacred in the process.
If you don’t think the American government has a vested interest in demonizing China, you need to pay more attention to what exactly they’re saying.
Korpvian is a gender identity where someone’s position on the gender spectrum is determined by their experiences with dysphoria and/or euphoria. A korpvic person would feel genderless when they are not experiencing dysphoria/euphoria, but when they start to experience one or both of those things, their gender identity “activates”.
Korpvian can be used as a gender identity on its own, or the adjective korpvic can be used as an in combination for any other gender identity. For example, a korpvic boy would be someone who is a boy but only experiences their boyhood when feeling dysphoric/euphoric, and when they’re not they feel genderless, because their gender is intertwined with those experiences, so the lack of those experiences would translate to a lack of gender.
